HEALTH NOT TO GOOD AGAIN . WENT INTO THE LOFT THIS MORNING TO FIND DEVISTATION ONE OF MY GRIZZLE HENS WITH NO HEAD TRIED TO LIFT IT AND I FELT SOMETHING PULLING IT BACK FROM THE HOLE IN THE FLOOR IN THE SHED, SHOUTED ON THE WIFE TO GET THE GUN TO SHOOT IT AND FOUND A STOAT WITH A GRIP OF MY PIGEONS HEAD. PIGEONS ARE TERRIFIED. I PUT EIGHT PAIR TOGETHER ON SUNDAY, ANY SUGGESTIONS SHOULD I SEPARATE THEM AGAIN? TOOSHY BOY, WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS IS .. A STOAT OR A WEASEL? thank you

sorry for your loss tooshy, but your lucky it only killed 1.it is a stoat

and I would keep your pairs together I think they will settle down quicker.

I think that's a stoat, judging by tail. I'd a tussle with its cousin the weasel a while back, on a training toss at a railway station of all places, I'd put the basket on the ground, standing there giving the birds 10 minutes settle time when a weasel appeared from the undergrowth and headed for basket. I took a step forward and it dived under a grit bin. I picked basket up and put it on top of hand rails, again stood waiting, and again that weasel came back out, and I chased it.

Bold as brass and obviously wasn't going to give up - and that was with a human present. Need to get that one sorted quick.
