geordie1234 Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 What percentage would you say it was the doo and what percentage would you say its the fancier that wins races
billt Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 What percentage would you say it was the doo and what percentage would you say its the fancier that wins races The best fancier in the world could not win with rubbish pigeons, so I would say a combination of both, good pigeons and a good fancier and still not guaranteed to win
Tony C Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Sprint racing more fancier than pigeon..................... better still if your in a good location.
Guest bigda Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 i would say 60/ 40 in favor of the fancier, only on the feeding and the health of the birds, as with out thatthey wouldn't be anything more than streeters.
Guest spin cycle Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 old adage about dairy cows '1/3 bred, 2/3 fed'....similar i think in pigeons '1/3 pigeon, 2/3 fancier'
ovy1255 Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 when did you last hear of a collie dog winning a race at the greyhound stadium-sprint or long.100% the bird well 95% hells bells when you get a goodun all you have to do is look after him and with all the info available unless your an idiot you cant fail .
andy Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Start with the loft, then the distance you want to race, then the pigeon, then the fancier, no maths involved!!
novo10 Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 the fancier health of doo the doo and then secret in feeding
tommyc Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 secret in feeding does that mean all the winners fed the same thing the fancier health of doo the doo and then secret in feeding
alex young Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 secret in feeding does that mean all the winners fed the same thingIf there is a secret in feeding I think it's the ability to feed correctly whatever you feed.( Just my opinion).
demolition man Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Good loft, good birds 60% , 40% fancier
geordie1234 Posted December 4, 2010 Author Report Posted December 4, 2010 i think it must be higher in favour of the fancier more like 65 as lets face it im no going to win anything next year but i have been given some right good stock lol
david Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 I am surprised some of you flyers do not mention position more often on the thread. I think some flyers think it is taboo to talk of position as it takes merit away from the fancier...Up to middle distance i know this plays a key roll. David

geordie1234 Posted December 4, 2010 Author Report Posted December 4, 2010 george you dont know you may come out and win more than you think my first year racing with old birds i won the three longest old bird races and was runner up o/b ave and runner up comb/ave all the bestsuppose mate im just looking forward to getting them away in the basket then i will see what happens after that
Guest joshdonlan Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 the shorter the distance, the more its down to the fancier, the longer the distance the more its down to the pigeon
BLACK W F Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 shorter distance position birds fanceir longer distance 50% each flyin short distance the guys hard on the coast will dominate unless east in the wind

T_T Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Think I've cracked it, is that loft location? Yes

If you're in a good loft position, you could win with below average pigeons and it's been proved over the years. Now if your'e in a bad spot and win out of turn, then you have good pigeons managed by an excellent fancier and I know which of the two I would sooner buy from.
geordie1234 Posted December 4, 2010 Author Report Posted December 4, 2010 HOW CAN YOU TELL IF YOUR IN A GOOD LOFT POSITION AS I WIDNAE KNOW LOL
