THE FIFER Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Bird of the Year Competition 2010 The site has decided to do a small competition over the coming few weeks. If you have had a good performing bird /birds during 2010 then now is the chance to not only showcase this to your fellow members but also earn a wee bit of beer money for it. no entry limit The competition will be initially separated into the following categories 1st***Best performance(s) up to 350 miles 2nd***Best performance(s) over 350 miles 3rd***Best Young bird performance(s) We think the categories are pretty self explanatory, basically if you have a pigeon that has had a good race or races in 2010 then send the results in for the relevant category. Each category will be judged separately and a prize awarded for each class. The winners from each class will then go forward to be judged for 'Pigeon-basics bird of the year' How to nominate your bird To enter the competition you need to keep an eye on the thread for entry dates etc. You will need to send the following information - *Pigeon Ring Number*Colour*Sex * Performances achieved (This can be at any level from club to International) * We also require the organisation for which result was achieved, birdage, distance and velocity *All class winners will be expected to supply secretary contact details for result verification * We don't need a picture yet but would definitely appreciate one of the class winners when the time is right *All entries should be sent to The Fifer or Old Yellow. * Please do not openly disclose the identity of your entry into the competition - should this happen your entry will be disqualified. How the judging will take place * Simple every class will be judged by the members on an open thread - This thread will be for voting only with a simple vote of 'Bird 1' etc etc. In the case of a tie break - The owner of the winning birds will have the option to either draw the class and share the prize money or if both are in agreement then the winner will be judged by a random site member (who will be named after) The Final will also be judged on the site by the members of basics and in the case of a tie break a panel of three independent judges will decide the overall winner. VOTING IS NOW OPEN FOR THE FINAL AND WILL CLOSE AT 10pm ON SATURDAY THE 11th DECEMBER 2010 The prize distribution will be as follows **** Qualifying classes = £25 per class **** there will be an addition of a £100 voucher from swilcox and Raymond Moleveld for the over 350ml class this voucher cannot be used at auctions****Pigeon Basics bird of the year = £50 + Additional ***** The competition is open to all so lets have a bit of friendly competition THE FIFER

VMS Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 THINK ALL THE BIRDS THAT ARE THERE TO BE VOTED ON ARE GOOD BIRDS,BUT THINK LOCATION HAS TO COME BEFORE BIRDAGE OR ANYTHING ELSE.
