How do Fed officials judge the "Federation Fancier of the Year"?

I'd love to hear from the members what the normal criteria is.

In my own simple mind it would be based on Federation performances only.

Or perhaps I'm wrong?

In certain circumstances I think it's a case of "if your face fits".

Ooops, did I actually say that?

in my opinion in the fed i am in midlothian 18 main trophy,s up for the winning .who ever wins the most to me it the top flyer that year.

The guy that wins the Fed Averages is the best fancier in the Federation or Club. No matter how many 1st's you get its the guy who enters and times in from every race that gets my vote every time.

it was the same in our fed last year i won the fed averages again but the bird that did best for me won the fed tropthy for the 3 longest old bird average herself but did,nt win bird of the year and the surprising thing is she was only a yearling ;) .

Top racing Colin m8http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif I think some Feds take into account SNFC results, whether this is right or wrong I don,t know, but I personally feel a Federation Fancier of the year should rely on Federation resultshttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif JMO

would be interested to see the results of the winning fancierhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

It is an interesting thread as it shows folks have a different idea of what 'fancier of the year' is. I don't know either :D . Early in the thread I thought it might have been something beyond 'just' performances (no disrespect intended, performances listed are great) e.g. charity work, pigeons in schools, ambassador for the sport etc.

But later in the thread, when Fed-only racing was discussed, I realised my Club & Fed award trophies for SNFC and SCC races, i.e. first bird in club or fed from these races. They don't count for OB, YB or Combined Averages. I would think 'fancier of the year' is beyond these averages, so probably these other race results count too?

But there's only one place to ask your question and get the right answer for your Fed - your AGM.

"if your face fits"

Yes Colin sad but true, and also depends on your "postcode" too.

Well done on some top perfromances, and never let them get to you. :)

Well Done on your results colin those that know you know you are a great doo man , if you competed in all fed races and those were the type of results then yes but if you don`t compete in all fed races then you cannot be fed fancier of the year the only fair way is averages jmo

(not refering to yourself personally)

great flying colin ,but, would be interesting to see what the winner won and also what you won the rest of the season ?. oh and forgot to say i disagree with j.quinn if some fancier wins 10 x first fed and some one wins the averages just because he/ she goes to or times in ,in every race doesnt make them fancier of the year imo.
