Was going through Mount Ellen near Gartcosh this afternoon and seen a Sparrow Hawk dive down into the  loft compound which belongs to Gordon Geddes  so turned the car into the drive and seen the Hen sitting over a pigeon with it's wings spread right out  so jumped out the car and ran over to get it when the hawk just lifted and went. The  bird still didn't have a mark on it but was desperately trying to get under the loft so picked it up examined it and it was perfectly fine and put in a Sputnik. So Gordon if you read  this the bird was a cheq hen ring number 51400.

Dougie, I was really sick that I didn't get the hawk because if it was that hungry I could have given it  a good feed myself and it would have been happy and content then. LOL

I was like that the other day at another club members mate, the hen was like a buzzard, some size, and came frome nowhere,  :)

Maybe Gordon will give it a good feed/home when it comes back to him,  ;)

Best watching them fly into Toughened glass - normal glass, not too big does them good too. Mind one has to be careful when picking them up that your foot doesn't stand on it's neck like.

Roland ,Sure you need to watch it's neck mate as they are very beautiful birds hey as wouldn't want to hurt it in any way and just want to look after them and make sure they are well looked after. AYE OK MATE NO PROBS   LOL

once i told someone how to look after a percy and was threatend by a"pigeon fancier"

to some he is a hero to me he is ex rspca

and still a very active member on this forum

Oh yes, more active and Seeing' and looking out for his' 'lot' than 98% of the pigeon fancier will, and that's for sure. So I would have an eye over my shoulder if it got hurt ... But as I would never do anything untowards, then Of course I don't mind him looking out for their interests ... Only right and fair eh :-/ :P ;D ;D ;D
