bluey Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Have been using G10 pellets (with Gemthepax added) and been happy with the condition of the birds. Trying to make a decision whether to change, any advice would be appreciated. The additives in each pellet seem to be beneficial in different ways and cannot decide which side of the fence to jump.
Guest Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I HAVE USED PELLET FEED FOR SOME TEN YEARS NOT THE ONES ON THIS THREAD.IVE TRYED MOOR GOLD,GEM THE PAX,ORIGO STIM,BABY FOOD.BUT I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THE PELLETS COME OUT ON TOP.

topmantilley Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Bamfords do them... Not tried them yet, but was thinking of hi mate going off the ybs we got last week from a member on here i will be using them
DAVIDL Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 hi, yes ive been using the bos pellets, at first they wouldnt eat them but if gradually introduced they will. to be honest i saw no benifit to ybs fed by parents compared to other years when using different growing pellets, although i did notice the pigeons droppings were smaller and firmer (and pink) and i also think they are quite expensive for the amount you get...
ALF Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Tried them at the beggining of breeding thought they were ok and early y/b's looked good on them but a wee bit pricey at approx £11 a bag so i decided to give the chicken layer pellets a try and they/b's coming out the nest are still very good but they are £7.30 a bag so i'll stick to them from now on

cemetary Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 I have reared my young birds on them from the stock hut, they are looking very fine, i gave them to the stock very slowley and they ate them with no problems, i will slowley introduce them to the young birds when i get them.
wilkins Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 i use bos pellets and have bred some very nice babies this year
kirky Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 i used bos pellets on my first round the birds went mad on them but there was no differance in the rearing of the ybs, as i did not use them on the 2nd round and thay was just as good.
wilkins Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 may be right kirky in my case to but i did notice the feathering to be extra silky on the babies more than normal

david Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Little Sam !! More Hype?? Have you tried bamfords Bos pellets??? if not then you must do . I would say to all that they produce Fantastic youngsters if used as a mix with peas or something to make it more appetizing to the older parent birds..they are more than is needed used on there own but you would need to run a water tap to each birds box to keep up with the thirst that all pellets produce when used ..I used colostrum last year for the youngsters and i can see no difference in this years youngsters using the Bos pellet from Bamfords..if i had to pick, then the pellet gives a more robust youngster ...i found the colostrum matured the birds too quickly sexualy... Not ideal for racing i think as the thirst generated is abnormal and if your bird is hounded from the drinker and cant get a swig then it,s goosed ... In as far as breeding goes and for what it,s worth then top marks from me .. Give em' a try. DAVID
Guest Taylors Choice Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 http://pigeons.taylorschoice.co.uk/products/167233_bos_pigeon_pellets_-_bamfords_20kgs.php Update to the broken link in my first post. Have found these to be quite popular in the shop recently not heard much feedback though. What are peoples experiences with BOS pellets so far?
