Heard of 3 attacks in the last week on pigeons getting out for the first time this year one partnership losing 3 birds in the same day.

Been out 9 times,attacked 3 times,one bird lost,an average start once more !!

I think you really need to be standing at the loft when the pigeons are out and about the Hen sparrowhawk is very active at this time of year right up until she goes to nest   It’s a bastardo of a thing.

Let young birds out for 1st time, attacked within 10 mins, all scattered, lost 10, 2nd time happened again lost 2, have to stand over them when I let them out now, murder.

absoute torture at this time of the year, had two sitting next to each other today in the trees while the old birds were out, dreading letting the young birds out as they just scatter them

Had a similar issue here John, but with a peregrine, 3 attacks since last Thursday, it's not caught any but scattered them everywhere yesterday. I am going to keep them in for a few days hoping that will break the peregrine's routine ??

The game is Fkd, been hit 4 times in a 2 week period both by sparrowhawk and peregrine tried keeping birds in for a few days but when let out attacked again .To date i have 4 birds missing what chance do you have birds so scared they come out then run back inio loft.

Totally agree and you've my sympathy. This time of year is heartbreaking . Been hit twice in past week or so both with lucky escapes. However another one is missing today. Any losses have a big effect on a small team and I am getting totally scunnered with the way things are going ! But what can you do other than soldier on .

Was getting hit last week. Sorted the problem. Just waiting on another turning up which will go the same way.

Not good Sandy , we had one hit today also and another found in the field across the road ,as you say big loss if you have a small team
