Delboy Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 I think we have no chance this weekend so what do we do ? In my opinion, if their is a chance of a midweek race then EVERYONE should do it, not just the odd fed trying to make a name for themselves, EVERYONE.Have a later lib to accommodate the workers. I also think with the poor start to yb racing this year the both nationals should be looking to put their races back a week. They could alter the H.O.D to suit.Whats yer thoughts ?

Central fed are racing on Thursday,I would leave the y/b/n dates alone still time to get them out, The problem is people are scared to push y/birds out, and keep them at short races ,

I agree, folk are terrified to push them over 60 miles nowadays.

They could alter the H.O.D to suit.Whats yer thoughts ?We have got relief drivers with the necessary licence taking our birds on weekends Derek until we secure a permanent driver So that rules out midweek for us If me miss a week we just move on as it's only 20 / 40 jump per week Had 2 shaps 65 miles now up to 100 then 120,140,180,220 before national Putting national back wouldn't work for naturals their struggling already with moult the darkness youngster's will crucify them Agree wind looks nasty this weekend will decide Friday, if not it's only 120 the next You know Derek if their fit and healthy distance no problem it's when their notGo down like flys Atb mick
grdkeith Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 If the choice is between a midweek race and no race then it's a no brainer, season is short enough without missing a race

lightning fast Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 Nobody work anymore, if the birds are fit missing a week won’t make any difference they will jump no problem at all.
Dooheed 5 Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 If the choice is between a midweek race and no race then it's a no brainer, season is short enough without missing a race Easy to say if you dont work George !

geordie1234 Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 No need to race this weekend just postpone to next week simple....

Who are you saying is trying to make a name for themselves? It was agreed at our federation AGM that the race controllers could bring races forward if weather conditions were more suitable. That’s what our controllers have decided in the best interests of the pigeons. Any other federation can do the same if their members agree. It won’t suit everyone and doesn’t really suit me this week due to work commitments but a race on a Thursday is better than no race at all in my opinion.

We got up last Friday on our todd expletive remove.
Dooheed 5 Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 Having three foster children is not what I would call not working chris!!Even though Im not a parent myself George I fully understand it would be like a full time job indeed but what im referring to is not being present at my loft for birds arriving due to being at work out of town
novo10 Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 No need to race this weekend just postpone to next week simple....So we will still be racing middle of September
Delboy Posted August 6, 2019 Author Report Posted August 6, 2019 So we will still be racing middle of September Does Lanarkshire continue the race program until they've flown all the races , regardless of when it stops ?
novo10 Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 Does Lanarkshire continue the race program until they've flown all the races , regardless of when it stops ?Think so mate
Kyleakin Lofts Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 Having three foster children is not what I would call not working chris!! Hear hear, I have two and another two that we adopted still in the house. Our daughter is fairly self-sufficient, but our son is most certainly not. We are kept very busy with the two foster kids, so I know where you are coming from.
geordie1234 Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 So we will still be racing middle of September Better than going to a race at all cost especially for ybs
grdkeith Posted August 7, 2019 Report Posted August 7, 2019 Even though Im not a parent myself George I fully understand it would be like a full time job indeed but what im referring to is not being present at my loft for birds arriving due to being at work out of town Understood chris,my point was a race is better than none and even a toss if possible this week for those who have not yet started would be prefferable (given that only 31 members out of 102sent to first race),That would then give us the chance of continuing the programme (weather permitting) as normal.Having done the job myself i know that it would be a risk and a thankless task if weather once again screws it up but worth considering P.s. If we are ever really really really desperate how you at babysitting
flying fifer Posted August 7, 2019 Report Posted August 7, 2019 expletive remove, my point is we should all be going down together on the same day expletive remove. If giving the controllers the flexibility to change race days, due to bad weather forecasts and putting the welfare of the birds 1st, constitutes trying to make a name for Angus & Dundee then you are grossly mistaken. We don't need sensible decisions like that to make a name for ourselves. Check the National results😉😊😆😉

Check the National results😉😊😆😉 I totally agree with flexibility and my wording of making a name for yourself has been taken out of context, AGAIN lol. Im saying, flexibility is definitely the key to success, BUT, we all must play the game with each other instead of pulling in different directions. The mentality of the pigeon sport is f kin appalling , oneupmanship ruling the way, with folk laughing up their sleeves at feds getting hammered as long as they are ok. Absolutely disgusting behaviour fae f kin adults imo.My original post states that if the only option to race this week is during the week, EVERYBODY SHOULD GO, not just a couple of feds.
