philg50 Posted August 2, 2019 Report Posted August 2, 2019 The answers you have been given shows how unsure everyone is i am afraid.

yeboah Posted August 2, 2019 Report Posted August 2, 2019 60 away their not to sit and look at they are racing pigeons after allQuite right pal 29 away last week 27 away tonight if they have wings fit and healthy they will fly Why would they be on the darkness and sit at home ?
philg50 Posted August 3, 2019 Report Posted August 3, 2019 60 away their not to sit and look at they are racing pigeons after allDifferent if you only have 20 odd birds you have tae think a bit after last weeks disaster IMO.
neila Posted August 4, 2019 Report Posted August 4, 2019 Had 40 weaned 18 tosses to 22 miles I have 35 from the 40 weaned sent north rd to 94 miles a hard race to start with 1140 ypm had 29 yesterday and 2 today Very strange race with birds arriving spilt up from all directions I think the low cloud and se wind didn't help
ALF Posted August 5, 2019 Report Posted August 5, 2019 60 away their not to sit and look at they are racing pigeons after all 57/60 with 30 of the 2nd team in for there 1st race with only 4 tosses (2 from the stables at the top of Carluke and 2 with the fed transporter ) 27/30 home so a good result. If yb's are fit and HEALTHY it will be no problem to them no need to run down the road 20 or 30 times with them...
REDCHEQHEN Posted August 5, 2019 Report Posted August 5, 2019 I had 37/38 on the day, one next morning We have a new starter in our club who lives 6 doors away from usHe was like a dog with two tails having waited 35 years (and for retirement)to start racing pigeons - and this was his first race He was so excited - and was lovely to seeHe has been so enthusiastic He got one before we did - but it wouldn't trap..........C'est la vie!
neneland Posted February 25, 2020 Report Posted February 25, 2020 I buy 20 club rings and 20 NFC rings - but seldom fill them. I will send some to One loft races, others to the Breeder/Buyer and keep around 12/16 for myself. These will be sent with the old birds when the come back races arrive and to every young bird race plus if any are left, The NFC young bird national. I still hold that sending with the old birds helps with confidence, experience and reduces stress. JMO
