IS SCOTTISH PIGEON RACING IN DECLINE
WulDon replied to a topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
as we all know clubs and feds are declining in numbers, but more fanciers now race more pigeons which is keeping the birdages quite healthy so i wouldn't say the racing side is in an immediate decline. the biggest problems seems to be that some members are becoming 'control freaks' within these smaller societies, and are actually trying to control the way fanciers are wanting to race there birds and literally telling them what they can and cannot do! this is what is ruining the sport, causing divides, bitterness, proposing silly rules, edging fanciers to move clubs/feds... the list goes on! unfortunately nearly every club & fed has them along with there little followers sticking together to push votes through at meetings etc., these are the fanciers who are unfortunately killing the sport and probably dont even realise it!! will it ever change back? the only hope lies within newly formed clubs who apply new ground rules and reinstate harmony within the sport, pick n choose there members and move forward from there. -

a winner is a winner in my opinion despite what size of loft they fly from, after all every pigeon is an individual once in the air and there can be only one winner! its is only the winners that ever get spoke about or recieve any press coverage, does it stop any fancier at the year end buying at sales from lofts that fly big teams??? the answers here are quite obvious... ye, loft position plays a major role especially in sprint racing, but its nobodies fault on a race day which way the wind blows or if velocities fall which then benefits some fanciers... every dog has his day if we stick at it, generally the fanciers who moan generally couldnt fly a kite anyway and are always looking for excuses!

what can i try with a infertile cock 10 yrs old
WulDon replied to carrera's topic in Breeding, Strains & Families
we have had old cocks fail at 9yo and no matter what we tried in some case didnt work, at the moment we have a 13yo van loon stock cock who never misses an egg. however last season we had six old cocks between 9-12yo who were all throughing blanks! from that six i got four to produce with the aid of chorionic gonadotrophin, a substance used by human males who are trying to boost there own natural testosterone levels when trying for family, this works if you are trying to get an odd youngster or two from an old cock. since then we have came across a company in Holland (Intervet Inc.) that produces a product containing chorionic gonadotrophin + serum gonadotrophin, havent used it yet but i believe can also be used on hens to help ovulation. -
entries accepted anytime from now until 30th November 2009... to myself on 01382 818321 or doos@whdonachie.com or send a PM

watch how you go here lads, i wouldnt say whey protein is designed for our feathered friends... not the human form anyway, not sure if any company sells specifically for pets. being a competetive body builder i use all forms of powdered protein, pure whey isolate, whey and casein... all designed to release into the system at different time rates depending on how i diet/train. now as with all supplements you get cheap crap, generally the cheaper lesser quality brands have you running to the 'bog' on more occasions so just beware if you do use on your pigeons i'm sure this could have the same effect. click onto any website selling these products for athletes and the better quality ones imo are CNP, Met RX, BSN, Extreme Nutrition, etc.... trust me i've used cheap sh*te and it has the same effect on yer bum!

7x1st SNFC Section wins all from channel! West Section record i'm sure? There are exceptional fanciers in every SNFC Section, nobody trying to split them up and before somebody jumps back on the high horse these threads are surely for self opinions and at the end of the day thats all they are... nobody is actually stating 'tom' is better than 'harry'! My opinion for whats its worth would have to be Jim Donaldson, purely for loft location... extreme distance... consistency... and the hard racing that has been encountered in recent years, yet this man rattles them in good style, a past SNFC winner and SNFC Gold award winner... whats left for him to win?

Great pigeon Billy, well done. This youngster was also 3rd Club Alnwick the week prior to Witton Castle and 3rd Club Ripon the week after W/C, so it was on the boil for 5 weeks! Excellent....

i think Ypres as suggested is an excellent racepoint for giving yearlings there first taste of the channel, even for some 2yo that have been nursed down to approx 300-350 miles as yearlings. thought has to go into the education of future channel pigeons, as it stands birdages certainly wont rise... the days of racepoints touching on 700 miles are surely finished, how many lofts honestly have pigeons that can go to these races, hence the extremely poor birdage. the NFC can cater for the extreme distance enthusiast, and it can be done as Les McKay proved this year... just my thots.

maybe i'm missing something here, but two seperate libs would then mean NO open result???
