  17. Hi Jimmy Pieter Olberholster is the UK agent for this one loft race, send your initial deposit... get the birds down to him and he does the rest, then pay balance... its about £120.00 per bird. Go onto there website on 25th January, there may be some unactivated pigeons up for grabs at 120 euros each... Have just sent my registration form off for the Emerald Classic 2010, they are £125.00 per pigeon.

  21. had this before, sometimes this actual feather is not white at the root so it regrows in the normal grey colour... we sometimes see this in feathers that are half white, but in these cases it is just right at where it grows from the wing...
  22. i think some are missing a wee point here, some lofts are not treating because there pigeons are sick but purely using some form of medication to enhance racing abilities... nothing wrong with that if you have that kind of knowledge... lets face it most top lofts throughout the UK are using something that gets those extra few yards a minute on a race day! back to basics, try feeding your birds tic beans and fresh water these days and i'm quite sure bitter dissapointment will follow on a saturday. if a pigeon falls sick then knock it on the head??, if one your family contracted the flu virus would you be so keen to knock them on the head, i think not! i always believe in giving a pigeon one chance and one chance only to make a recovery and this is purely based on my own findings. in 2007 i purchased a blue cock at the SNFC YB sale, he was introduced to my YB loft... after a few weeks he went light and almost skeletol whilst all my YB team remained perfectly healthy, he wasnt isolated as i believe this only knocks them back further and like young children if you are going to have a problem, let them all have it (nursery scenario). i mixed up some baytril in a small jar, the blue cock was syringed 2ml twice per day down the throat... after 7 days the pigeon bounced back. as a YB he flew the programme 204 miles, as a yearling he went right down to Eastbourne 418 miles and scored 1st Club, 7th Fed, 11th Combine, 27th Sect., 82nd Open SNFC, this year as a 2yo he once again went to Eastbourne then over to Falaise winning 4th Club, 13th Fed. 541 miles. i realise this is probably a one off but fanciers shouldnt be to ready to pull out the 'black bag' when a pigeon looks a bit off, with todays knowledge and medication i'm sure most pigeons could be put right, ask yourself one question... how many times have we been to the docs with a complaint that required a prescription drug?
  23. Check out this one loft race lads... www.derbyarona.com This is the first international one loft race that i have entered, to say i'm chuffed to bits the way my pigeons have been cared for is an understatement... updates via text and email about my pigeons, you tube films on libs.. general condition.. exercising.. etc. An absolute first class establishment, now that training has started it keeps you rooted during these boring winter months when nowt much happening at home. The first two training races where on 22nd and 26th December from 5km & 10km. The result appears on screen within minutes, bit of fun searching through the hundreds of birds timed and the hope that your pigeons appear in the list. The next training race is due to take place on 29th December, have a look lads and see what you think... maybe next year we can get a Scottish Team put together to compete with the 'BEST IN THE WORLD'... food for thought?

    whitburn show

bin the likeliest classes then? flown classes only? okay some will race the crosses also and then there entitlement to these classes will be valid.... create classes to entice show doo's only? these lads keep there birds all year like we do... difference being we have 20 plus races to compete from, lucky if there are six major shows in scotland now, so dont knock them not there fault who decides the classes, lets face it without there support there wouldnt be any shows in scotland... jmo.
