  3. 548 now, nearly half way there... i noticed last year they had a silimlar race from the first Gran Canaria Hot Spot, then the second Hot Spot also from Gran Canaria was great returns... so hopefully this race will set them up for the first Hot Spot on 20th Feb, just lets hope for some more over next day or two as after that i dont think they will be much cope for next week... mind u in there climate i would expect pigeons would bounce back far quicker than here?

  9. well we got a right stincker today! this evening only 360 made it home from an entry of 1113. glad to say one of mine made it and finished 85th, some poor lads will be out the game after today... but they do say its the hardest pigeon racing in the world! it seems the largest majority of the flock headed for the coast line of the gran canaria island, with some being reported there today... a team of about 600 where seen in las palmas today also, hopefully some will get home tomorrow and throughout the week before the first hot spot race on 20th feb from gran canaria... here hoping the first hot spot race is a bit easier than forecast now that probably most the youngsters have came from that direction.... keep ya posted on tomorrow returns, they reckon about 200 of these pigeons should show up over next few days?
  10. HANGING IN THERE!
  11. first off-shore training race took place today from 81km, lib @8.30am race turned out another success, winner in at 9.32... my three entrants 9.35.15/9.35.31/9.36.05. positions 530th, 591st, 671st glad they are all there quite sharp again, still 33 birds adrift this evening and pigeons still being clocked late this afternoon... good to get the first race like this out the way being off shore!

  15. this is the first international one loft race i've entered Gareth, and i am 100% plus delighted the way the organisers have put this together, constant updates via email, letter, txt and as you say the video footage is great, not to mention the profile on each fancier and there birds. when your first pigeon arrives from a race you recieve at txt telling you what pigeon it is, position and time... will def be sending again this year, hopefully my thread will encourage other scottish flyers to participate and we can go as a team for 2011!
  16. sorry to hear that mate, they obviously moved on since seven year ago then!
  17. cheers paul, just hope they keep it up... c u week end m8.
  18. bring back the amalgamation, best racing we ever had...
  19. ye birds could only be a few seconds apart but 100 positions behind... when they get a drop of say 300-400 birds there are obviously delays in trapping, this will sort itself out when we get to the longer races and they get some rumble ups! but good fun the now, glad to a see my entrants up there quite sharp again and not to far behind. next training race is on thursday, training video live now for all too view...
  20. new updated photos on the website now of all 1250 entrants credit must go to the organisers as the pigeons look in absolute first class order! pool money on for monday... (wiseman)
