buy in bulk, save a fortune and cut out the middle men! bamfords do a minimum delivery of 60 bags with some mixes under £8.00, get together with a few club members and split the costs. they also quite cheap for some of there products, i recently purchased some duramitex plus at £4.67 per can, retails at £9.40 which some stockists are charging... fanciers are being ripped off left, right and centre these days!

we first introduced the Van Loons in 1996, they are still going strong to this day winning for oureslves and other fanciers. the best line we found was via Barry Intin and his famous 'Applejack' direct son of Little Scrumpy, we also had a direct son of 'Pied Scrumpy' from John McManus, Cambridge... another direct son of Little Scrumpy, these lines are still very prominent in our loft today breeding Fed winners every year!

i'm sure it is jimmy, best o luck!

Nae JOCK on this planet would pay £4.00 a bird to compete at Fed level,

The above sale was organised by Joe Murphy, Kevin Murphy and Dave Baldie to raise funds for Ninewells Hospital, Dundee relating to Derrick's terminal illness. The lads done an exceptional job in raising in the region of £4000 for this great cause which Joe has wrote about in the weekly magazines and on the Elimar site. I'm sure everybody including myself would like to wish the lads an immense WELL DONE, and to all the donors and purchasers of the pigeons... which i beleive raised some great prices.
-
well done jimmy... how did you fair at FED & COMBINE level?
-
maybe worth trying a shorter race point, say newark... 25 mile less? just a thought, leicester and cheltenham havent been very successful over the years for returns....

Section C about 600

pretty sure you are wrong there buddy, once your clock has been cleared and sheet printed that is it until the next race when your pigeons have to be ring marked... some fanciers who do not clock lets say from the channel still have to have there clock cleared and a sheet printed which states 'no ring data' once again after which they cannot clock pigeons, any pigeons arriving afterwards is registered as a trainer on the base station but not stored by the pocket clock for the race just flown... no expert either m8 but 99% sure thats how it is

comments like this is what we dont need when trying to resolves problems and come up with ideas on the forum for our young bird racing, nae hard feeling buddy musta been the hangover eh... lol

the only peregrine bother i have witnessed was at my own loft as mentioned earlier, but percy was only interested in the odd young bird not flying with the pack, and it eventually did single one out and strike away with it... not once did it bother the pack nor did the pack seem to bother either, apart from gaining some height. agree it probabaly would scatter a team of birds training, wots the average team these days 50-70 young birds, but couldnt seen it having that effect on a convoy of 1500 upwards? has anyone witnesssed a strike on a convoy? if so what happened?
-
thats her just home now, all up! for a change, ha ha...
-
so has mine, DOES YER HEED IN! lol

go and read the 'beano'or something them m8, this is an open forum where fanciers can voice there opinions on our sport, if you dont like what you read subscribe to 'womens weekly' or something!

totally agree BOP a huge problem now, i stood and watched in sheer disgust this year when Mr.Percy took one of my youngsters out the air when excersing around the loft! but, when a hawk or peregrine strike a convoy of racers a very small percentage actually realise what has happened so in all honesty i reckon predators only account for a small percentage of our losses on saturdays! our later lib yesterday ensured all young birds had plenty of time to get to the drinkers, liberating at 7am at this time of year is guaranteeing most young birds are not drinking especially in transporters like ours with no form of artificial lighting... i exercise my young birds as early as i can in the mornings and lately it has not been possible to let them out until about 6.45am, so how can young birds expect to be fully hydrated upon liberation! dehydration causes confusion, disorientation, and heavy losses! jmo lads but we all know that this is the way it is!
