  2. any chance posting a picture of this pigeon plz?
  3. JIM HANNAH in attendance to photo your favourite pigeons.
  4. Confirmed today that the Downfield Friendly RPC will be holding there annual show on the 5th December 2009 in the Downfield Social Club. More details to follow soon........
  5. I would highly recommend these pigeons and would be a definate investment for someone. We have pigeons from Paul and they started winning straight away, not just club prizes but Federation wins.
  6. had boxes, perches and floor grills delivered into scotland without any problems from redstar and petron
  7. leave them in the hut mate, youngsters thrive on weekly racing... jumping them back in at this stage a bit pointless, there winning nothing any way!
  8. pair winner to winner, and breeders of winners together and i would say the success rate would be alot higher than fannying around with an eyesign glass... only my opinion but one i reckon would be backed by plenty successful lofts throughout the UK and worldwide for that matter.
  9. huge ad in last weeks BHW...
  10. Nearly correct... i have 6 SEEHOGUE TERRACE
  11. i got a youngster in today, belonged a fancier in manchester!
  12. there are a lot of feds/organistaions that dont appear in BHW/RP each week... besides this is a system that been around for the 28 years i have kept racing pigeons, an old out of date system that should be filed under 'B' !!... in this day and age surely an up to date method via the net could be adopted and supported by our unions. how many phone calls would it take before we get a lib when all the info required could be at the touch of a button! food for thought fellow fanciers and something i feel should be actioned now when yesterday events still have bitter thoughts in our minds??
  13. jade, a hell ov a lot of pigeons missing in dundee and angus for nothing unusual to happen... the birds clashed we all know that now hence the losses and the very few returns today... these lost youngsters are miles form there lofts and 99% will probally never see there lofts again!
  14. Lets get it done... now, get a meeting arranged with the view to creating a website, get the Union involved who can then approach the RPRA with our intentions. If we get a few strong heads together on this one anything can be accomplished, cant guarantee perfect racing every weekend i know but at least something is being done about it, i am quite prepared to get involved on this one... like at lot of fanciers i am totally hacked off with young birds losses these days.
  15. Dundee & Angus Feds both got a bit of tanking y'day from Witton Castle from a 7am lib., although nothing near as bad as you lads... my heart goes out too all these fanciers counting the empty perches this morning. Something has to be done... i've suggested sunday yb racing at our agm but some fanciers look at you as if you were some kind of an idiot, prob the same lads that have lost all there birds and now complaining. I'm pretty sure race controllers must have known about the north road libs at berwick yesterday? it looks pretty much clashing did occur and the 'L' fed came off the worse, why not sit tight let the english go past then lib about 1100-1200 o'clock? play safe... Did the controllers know? if not why cant the SHU and RPRA issue all libs that are taking place at the weeks ends on there website, with contact numbers that controllers can use? Once the birds are up race controllers dont suddenly become air traffic controllers, our feathered friends are then in the 'hands of the gods', but lets at least make there job a wee bit easier by applying a bit more common sense when liberating past 100 miles, more so with young birds... old birds will generally correct them selves if getting tangled up and returns are usually quite acceptable. What has happened yesterday cant be shrugged off as being 'doo racing for ya', we need to be all singing from the same hymn sheet to prevent this type of racing happening, ye i agree we will always get a dodgy race here n there but if the birds get a chance to work to bring returns up to an acceptable level then that is 'doo racing for ya'... Lets hope we get a good weeks weather with nice south winds to let our birds work home, and lets not forget about this week end when the season closes, our perches are refilled then come the agm nobody seems to give a hoot.
  16. Billy McEwan 10.18
  17. Same feeling here as well, all my best youngsters lost today from witton castle... the birds were late, 3 hours 20 mins for 134 miles... it seems the second batches got through and the leaders have clashed... Yorkshire birds at Berwick 8am lib, maybe? Why have most feds that liberated from Witton Castle today had a crap race, especailly the Lanarkshire lads and they lib over 2 hours later than us? its just pure p*sh!!!

All credit goes to Kevin and a great pigeon, the sire was a pigeon that myself, Kevin and Joe purchased for the stock loft at great expense... this cock is at my loft and i split the youngsters with Kevin, so you see quality is bred here at my lofts and you know what i mean!!!
