  1. Well just my opinion—as you are no longer in the club boudaries then you need to put in two letters onetendering your resignation and the other applying for membership to club stating that your loft position lies outside existing boundaries and if accepted you would like your club to support an application to extend fed boudaries to allow you to fly for fed honours. That is only if your new loft position doesn’t lie in another clubs boundaries—then that is the club you should be joining.

    Busy Day

Sounds like a busy days work, but all done till young birds need doing. —-next is the worst job ,sorting out what to pair to what..
  3. We in the north east are lucky to have a new talent living in Consett. Greg Marshall has been gaining popularity as a pigeon photographer with new ideas as how to present your champions --but will provide photo to your requirements as he did with me providing just a blank pic for me to construct myself. Gregs pics are seen widely in the pigeon mags --you will notice his logo bottom left.

  7. Have you treat or inoculated them yet ? Looking well —-I like a bit colour in the loft but seem to have kulled it out as winners seem to be predominantly blue or light check in my loft—sprint birds.
  8. Well lads after freezing rain snow and sub zero temps —today snow all but gone temp up ,what can I say—- ENJOY YOUR RACE.
  9. Had the lines of the 10 off derk and won with them up to arras into the north east but found my Elliot and Watson birds crossed with Johan van heck’s Olympiad lines suit my racing but looking back Johan has crossed them with stickers and also kittel birds ,but in Belgium it’s winners to winners.
  10. If memory serves me right a few years ago —-November time ,there was a double page spread in the BHW and was titled fastest birds in world or similar statement and showed base strains and one of the main birds was from francs and dirk marris itegem, who ,s birds also are used to add sprint speed to jelious birds [spelling] But if you want a bit better info contact Johan van heck of herenthout ,he is Derick donkeys mate and has most of his lines in. You will not be able to get any marris birds from Derk and frans for the foreseeable future as the Japanese are buying Marris birds try Micky Betts
  11. I breed early mine are just starting to lay now and rings are available from NEHU on 2nd . Mine are left with old birds till at least 30 days old—then weaned off to young bird loft straight onto darkness system. They are fed light on a morning and kept tight but as much as they want on a night before putting darkness shutters up. Mine never range like some say theirs do but I do start early with basket training as I call it —-birds basketted at 12 to 14 weeks old at first toss is other side of my house and half way up field—so young birds see home as soon as they hit the sky and this settles them straight away —after a few of these they seem to be ok in basket. I also basket young in dark shed so they are not flying from around shed frightening them to death. Due to work mine are let out around loft at tea time and basketted later for a toss — Like to have at least 12 hrs of darkness so mrs opens shutters when I am at work —10 am and light feed them, this leaves night free to train when very little pigeons in the sky. My young are not split cocks and hens but left together and nest bowls are all over floor. Lights are used later in year to hold the wing moult. Mine race the whole of the young bird program—if they are ok they go—-and the first eight home on a Saturday go on midweek race from 84 miles—I think young birds love it. 2018 I started first race with 29 young bird and ended season with 24–one culled hit the wires. Results were good.

  14. John and lou mcgee run the french one loft race in france and i know walkers do deliver there ,might be worth contacting them --lou does come to england on shopping trips i believe --google french young bird derby --just a thought.
  15. Never had one return --lost 5 young birds during season but no returns so far Mate has had 9 return since end of racing but he did have heavy losses--nearly all hens so he says .
  16. Think some robbed the bank to pay for the birds--never checked out auctions but was told a draft of 10 birds made over 10,000 pounds if thats right ,well done alfie.
  17. As you say packed to the rafters but £8 entry was not on----as the sales team turned up the volume on the auction sales it was tòòooooo much. Auctions need moving off main floor as i dont pay to go to auctions and this would of allowed greater access to stalls ---fire brigade would close it due to numbers if they visit site And they even had an auction at bottom corner which stopped flow of the crowds checking out the stalls. DID YOU GO .?-----was it to crowded to see stuff .
  18. Harry crowther from consett has been told to remove one of his 16 ft lofts might be worth a bell--07938931177.
