  4. had more than one disaster this year, started with about 80 lost one or two settling. training i had a stinker and dipped about 20, had a few reported what didn't even survive for me to collect, sent 30 to the 1st race and dipped 13 (everyone had a bad one) been down to the coast and finished with about 40 odd, not had many cards this year with young birds but had 2 x 1st! plus i have a team for next year
  5. hi all ive had a bird reported at a vets in newark what needs picking up asap if anyone can help me out? having trouble collecting it myself with my work hours..

  7. what are peoples views on training when they are racing. do people stop after 1st race or continue training? in order to win races do they need a toss or two a week? Views would be good thank you!

  11. i was at the loft for 8 this morning got 2 back from yesterday, still 6 missing. Got one there from the 1st race (5 weeks ago in perfect condition) a stunning silver young cock, surprised ive got him back as its clearly been in somewhere. got back tonight and had one back from last week... Strange how they just turn up outa blue!
  12. thanks for you advice Mate, old birds season has gone almost to plan for me, winning 6/8 inland races, and 2/3 channel races its the young birds what i found to become hard with working, Exersicing the cocks, Plus having young birds training has got on top of me, ive had won 2/4 yb races so far so me method is there just find it a struggle at times so i had thought about a flying partner
  13. if i was you mate i'd try one or the other with the hours you work, i work 8 til 4 5 days a week and i can only race cocks with the short time i have so.. atb
  14. thanks for the responses! i have flew with my dad last year and its safe to say it didn't go to plan, ended up ending after one season so i think thats a no go Currently thinking of a flying partner, But it's not the easiest person to find.. Just have to hang on in there til someone pops up
  15. do you fly alone or have you got a partner? what are the pros and cons? I fly on my own at the min but finding somewhat of a struggle...
  16. Our fed have 3 more races left and i'm counting down the days til the last race, With the young bird season going the way it has been so far its safe to say its been a disaster all round. I believe there are plenty of people have had the same... end this season and look forward to next year and hope for a better one?

Our Fed, Stocksbridge And District Had a terrible race yesrerday From Kettering racing into Sheffield racing around 74miles to me. up at 8am Didn't get a bird until 9;54am my 2nd bird came at 10;13 them two birds finished 1st and 4th club. by 1 o'clock i had 5/30 this morning i have 11/30 with lots of people with the same sort of returns, One club in our fed sent 138 birds, Only two was timed. by all accounts yesterday was a disaster for racing but the question is why? Some say weather was to hot, Some say clashing and clearly some put it down to the birds not been right... Madness.

  22. Had a disaster this year, sent 80 + on Monday night finished up with lese than 30 back on Monday. Now up to 56 with 3 birds reported nightmare!! Hope everyone else has had better luck!!

    Losses

    started racing with 30 cocks, still have 25 left and they have tried hard for me this season winning 7 1st prizes out of the 10 races we've had. here is hoping that the yb seasin will be good with few loses!! Atb guys!
