Cold, raining and really strong winds

My stock lofts full of old uns, oldest one been a 1997 cock. There's a 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, few 2006's and then one every year til now :-)

We had one break her leg before the yb bird season advice from old club mates was to get rid of her, however she's out of a good cock so she was left in a nest box with easy bed on the floor, food and water 24/7 after a few weeks, she was back in the yb loft and she managed 7 out of 8 races. Just goes to show that a bit of time works just fine hope your bird makes a full recovery

A list of things that need doing at the loft, new landing been one of the 1st things. Also looking at having a bigger widowhood team next year so a new hut will be going up hopefully

Old bird season has gone alright, lost a few but I know it happens. I started with 24, have 14 old cocks in the o/b loft, all have had at least one card. My aim was to give the Chanel ago, sent to three Chanel races and prized at two. the old bird season has given me a few highlights including sending 6 cocks to a race, having 3 drop together to take 1st 2nd and 3rd. Next year hoping to have a bigger team as there's to many good birds left.

Agree with looking at the fancier. I like to buy ybs in but if I was to be buying old birds in id be looking at someone packing up, that way you know even the good birds are going. A club member has just decided to pack in and I've just purchased a nice hen of him :-)

We're flying from Maidstone with Stocksbridge federation. About 160miles to us. Thinking about 40. Atb to everyone racing.
