Yeah totally agree, the hen mentioned is a 2010 bird, And she's still in the loft now. And i've got a 2012 bird from her coming well. I commented for the fact someone said about loosing a bird that had offended before they should have disposed of it.. And my hen is a perfect reason why you shouldn't do this

Its a cold and wet one this morning in Sheffield

Im glad you agree with me there, when i started a few years ago i had my birds ill the advice i was given 'don't feed them much give them barely and leave them' i did that and a few pasted away on me, another fancier (now a good friend) gave me some proper advice and told me to get them tested and treat them with what they said to treat with, If i'd had got his advice 1st none would have been lost through death

a few people have it in one of the clubs so ill get what they have, Just lots to do at the end of the season

Sorry to say it doesn't matter how old someone is, birds can't come right without good treatment.

just to say, Cause a pigeon makes a mistake doesnt make it a bad bird.. A hen of mine went missing from a training toss came back when i was short of hens, So i bred two ybs from her and they both scored, one scoring more than once. every birds deserves a 2nd chance

The price shouldn't really come in to it, just be purely about the pigeons health.

ETS at end of year mate, Need to alter the lofts around a bit in order to have it set up atm my ybs drop to the roof and the into the trap within minutes but on a race day i know it wont happen XD

Last year with yb racing i had batches of 4's, 5's and 6's come together. but to get my 1st bird in the clock meant i had to loose time with my other birds, at the end of last year i thought i'd get a stall trap, I purchased one, Got them used to the trap however i can't get them to land of the trap without touching the roof so i decided to revert back to the open door with the yb racing slowly creeping up on me, The birds will be getting trained soon so need to get them to trap perfect. what do you guys use, open door or some form of trap?

I lost one from the loft, two old cocks from training and two yearlings from racing still have 19 after 5 races

I got them all from y'days race but had one drop in from a few weeks back today flown down looks like he's been living rough. Bless him.
