Thank you all All i know is the sire is a mike Ganus bird a friend bred me the bird last year and i raced him as a yb and he came twice to win but wouldn't trap so lost out on both 1st prizes but had two 2nd prizes, he almost did the same on Saturday.
1st race for us this weekend, with Stocksbridge fed Kettering which is about 74 miles, Im looking at sending 27 21 cocks and 6 hens, Split between two clubs, Hoping for a good race. Best of look to everyone else who is racing
Wow nice, I hope they continue to come for you. Last year my young hens flew brilliant, Week in week out in the prizes so i decided i had to race them this year if all goes well i will race again next year and then on
I got told today that my W/h cocks are droping to his hens so they're on the look out for hens, I keep my hens boxed so no chance of pairing up to anything but me xD
Im not sure of the system name just trying to race 6 hens what all prized as ybs so it's a shame to keep them locked away, from training they are let up at different times so no contact is made but on a Saturday who knows what'll happen
Thanks for the reply Cool Good luck, My cocks have flown alright for the last 2 years but haven't even flown like i wanted them to around home. this year is the best ive seen them fly, doing an hour morning and night no problem, the hens do fly alright round home i think but we'll see at the weekend when they're raced
Had my birds training this evening, w/h cocks took about 20mins to get home and the hens took just over 10mins... anyone else find hens are faster? this will be my 1st year racing hens! Atb, Andy
I had a pair leave two newly hatched ybs this year when i found them i thought they was dead but just incase i put them under a hen who was single rearing a day old yb, the pair reared the two i thought was dead and her own baby, Amazing how some are so motherly
