Sorry to here o the losses., We got a touchin frae Stafford yesterday 5/12. I posted this morn that here at the border itwas a real strong nor wester feel that this was the probs wae the race.

The solway fed has switched back and forth frae west tae east over the last decade. At first the racin from the east seemed better and the returns were good. Sadly it eventually evened itself out. The west is obviously a harder route than the much flatter east coast purely because of the Cumbrian Hills and for you boys further up the Moffat Hills come into play.

Solway fed have much the same issue wae Sedburgh. Its pinned in the hills and erevry local ive spoke to, when pickin up my hawked younguns, say they canny believe we race frae there. I think we have tae jump the cumbrian hills completely even if it means a slightly bigger jump in mileage than usual. For me its a no brainer. If you gan tae a race point say three or four times and get three or four disasters then its time to move on.

Got 3 now. 3 members wae nowt at clocks my 3/12 is the worst percentage wise. Won the club by 14 minutes but would swop for mare hame and being last

Timed at 12.29 frae stafford 161 miles and thats it 1/12 never seen a feather. Know of 4 members in club wae nought. Gutted

Ecclefechan 8 members sent 71 2 up on last week.Stafford wae the solway fed 161miles. I sent the same 12 brave soldiers as last week.

Are you keepin some for stock or racein them all next year as yearlins? I am a big fan of getin them trained in the year of their birth but if you push them too far durin the moult youll loose them and a proper moult is very important. Very seldom that a bird thats had a poor moult in the back end of the year will perform to its peak ability. Have a read at this http://pigeonracingpigeons.com/2010/02/04/helping-the-moult/

They will not thank you for trainin them wae no cover or wae bear faces un ears. Keep an eye on the wing moult.
