  1. Well Gareth it was just an example but The solway has raced from there on a number of occasions when we did 3 or 4 seasons doon the east about 5 years ago
  2. Yep defo not a one man job Walter. It will be some meetin tho if its proposed by you, say Ripon, and then the rest of the meetin discuss/bicker that racepoint then vote. Then we move on tae the next race point. I admire your idea of a fair view from every member and if individual clubs can come forward with a: The route they wish to fly and b:a proposed race program then that may be workable, parts could be selected from each clubs proposals by a committee or larger a meeting larger than a basic delegates meeting. Cheers for listenin Walter

  4. Thanks for yer replies lads. I had not realised Raymond Moleveld had De Klak, I will look into this. Thanks again Steven
  5. I personally think that if you have a plan in mind at the beginning of the year what doos are gan tae what national then it would be advantageous to know where the fed races are and whether or not they suit. Surely it would be of no real consequence tae the Solway fed if we waited on the SNFC as we have our own transporter and nothing needs booked in any real hurry. The first decision the fed members or committee must make is direction?

I dont think that signing a five year contract if you like is a very flexible arrangement. If cicumstances changed wae the snfc and they came back west and we were east with no possibility of change then no practical for me walter. The positive is that everybody would know exactly wot was going on and the yearling birds would be on the same route as they wer as babies.

Spot on. But we still canny dodge the hills doon here east or west so I hope we decide tae jump them completely!! Old birds cope much better than the younguns but its soul destroyin when you get a smash and you have no answers for it

Started old birds wae 36 an have 19 left. Registered 38 YBs on ETS and have only 15 left some of which have only been tae 100 miles after being injured or returning in a box. Had 8 ready for YB nat and sent 5. Got my fourth tonite in a box frae sunderland. We have some horror races inside the hills but seems tae improve when we get oot the other side. I am a realist and will gan where the members vote for as there are arguements for both sides. As i dont think snfc will return to a more westerly route from france then it would make sense for my doos tae gan east but then again that night just be given in.

    Two nose enders?
  14. Think this is probs the answer. Have heard a lot o older boys that left an open hole all year and felt the moult was better. The old doos will pick their own breedin time and once the racin is finished for them and the feedin and excersise changed then that triggered the moult very quickly. The young were bred quite late and held off the body moult while the wing went as norm.
  15. Do you split thee sexes at the end of the season? Wot time of year are yer young bred? ?
  16. Homemade widowhood cocks and hens
  17. Everybody raced tae the last race wae doos wae nae cover and their lugs stickin oot. There are always birds that held the moult better than others but nowt like darkies.
  18. Thats the way tae find oot for sure. Pigeon racin is a full on hobby. You will only get oot wot you put in. If you want tae win wae younguns then darkness is THE only way for start to finish condition.
