Slugs can be carriers of worm eggs and could infect your pigeons. Any of the methods described will kill them, but diatomious earth may be the only one to stop them coming into the loft. Either that or salt, but the pigeons will also be attracted to the salt and if the slugs have been in it first .........

Depends on where you live and race from, so I would think you should give that information then you should receive pointers.

Robert, I have not raced YB's at all, sometimes not even training them, just allowing them freedom around the loft. I don't 'race' well at any time, I'm sure you could manage better results in your sleep, but my returns are usually quite good. My reasons for not racing or training them as YB's are largely down to you and your ilk. I have listened to what you have said regarding peregrines. As to soda crystals, they were an old fashioned remedy for 'going light', drying out the gut and killing the worm which caused it. How they would remedy YBS, I do not know.

Toooooo short for Stuart, Andy. I don't race YB's, never have. Perhaps in the future. I usually lightly train them, then as yearlings, lightly race them. As 2Yo, I lose them. :D
