Just to put a spanner in the works, I was at a Pigeon moot a few weeks ago when 2 of Scotlands best fanciers were on the panel one a double National winner , and both stated that ventilation is not important in fact both wanted as much heat in their loft as possible.not my views but theirs.

The 2nd Avranches was never a Fed Race for Ayrshire .We used to have a seperate race on a different week with the West Coast Combine (Ayrshire, Glasgow,Ballochmyle, Renfrewshire, Kyle feds) I can remember in the late 70,s loading 2 full catteralls transporters plus a luton type transporter with the combine birds at the old bull ring in Kilmarnock, the birds were generaly liberated along with Solway fed, and some of the NW of England Feds, .

Got a few bags of Gerry extra last year and it was like sawdust , ended up chucking it out. maybe just unlucky as I know a few guys locally that use them with no complaints , but have to say for me first impressions count .

This season Ayrshire had a disaster from Dumfries YB, The next day the Red arrows were at the opening of the Commonwealth games, I wonder if there is a connection, if the arrows were training at Prestwick because the south of the fed had decent returns but the north got hammered.
