  1. That is his size lol
  2. Well no he isn't actually Wiley. However his uncle, who did the same, dominated the fed till 3 - 4 years ago, especially at the distance and hard races. He unfortunately pass on last year and his racing was curtailed for a couple of years prior due to ill health. You know, many off the top of their' heads spout things such as 'Yesteryears birds wouldn't live with today's birds'. or 'Those birds of the past would be pasted and left behind today. JUST look at the velocities etc.'... Whereas the fact is that that isn't so ... as velocities prove. And totally far less birds sent! Good days and bad days alike. Simple realisation is that in the 50's / early 60's there were 140.000 to 150.000 fanciers participating most weeks ... numbers of pigeon dropped of sent at the distance of course. However the 30 odd thousand fanciers today send each week far, far in excess of the birdage sent then. Then there is the heavy losses and fanciers breeding many times more again each year (filling up the towns and church tops - more even than ever before each year to counteract the losses of these culls bred and lost. Medicines has become a big business over the last 50 years or so, and gaining every week it appears. Many lies and FALSE claims told. Fear mongering abounds by firms, via Feather merchants and names - who get paid - to get their product sold. Have a look in my medicine cabinet ... none existent. However from time to time I do buy as needs must. Though very seldom. Then most likely at the super market lol.
  3. Best fancier I ever met, only ever used clean feed and fresh water. Once it was different feeds.... One a winter feed and one for racing .... till it was just the so - called racing mix. A stable all round mixed diet. Any grit was found picking up in the garden.
  4. Good post of truth there Tony. Besides Natural in some areas are doing every bit as good as Widowerhood etc. Especially at the distance and hard races -- why many re - mate for the distances. I think Peter you will do well.
  5. Yep definitely help I believe. Could hire one for a day or two / or three etc. Any Tool Hire place. Not dear. When building my loft in the winter I was going to use one. But fortunately I had so much wood from old loft etc. that I was able- before roof be put on - that I had a fire in each compartment burning for a few days and dried it out a treat... but you obviously can't do that. Heaters! with pigeons out? wood. Good luck mate.
  6. I am up Scotland soon, me and the ood lady, for a few days wander ... if any good I might pop in for a speck of Pea and Ham soup
  7. yeah that will do mucker lol
  8. Gosh every time you see that Paul I bet your legs ache and you gasp for breathe lol Well dome mucker.
  9. Cannae nae den plant anni and grow yer awn?
  10. What district Homer does the lady live?
  11. Think the modern method is a 1/3 more than needed... be it perches or nest boxes. I've done 16 - 20 nest boxes in 6 x 4 and 6 x 5 easy. Depends of course on air circulation.
  12. I think the youngster are to / would be taken out.
  13. Voted Best Scottish Short Joke A bloke walks into a Glasgow library and says to the prim librarian, 'Excuse me Miss, dey ye hae ony books on suicide?' To which she stops doing her tasks, looks at him over the top of her glasses and says, 'Buggeroff, ye'll no bring it back!' A couple from a Scottish circus go to an adoption agency, to inquire about adopting a child. The interviewing social workers are a bit doubtful about their accommodation. The couple produce photos of their 15 metre long caravan, the back half of which is a beautifully equipped nursery. The social workers then are doubtful about the standard of education that would be provided. "We'll employ an Oxford don who'll teach the child all the subjects along with Mandarin and ICT skills", the couple advise. "Our full time nanny is an expert in paediatric welfare and diet", they replied. So the social workers are finally satisfied, and ask what age of child they were looking for. "It doesn't really matter", they said, "so long as he is a good fit in the cannon".
  14. I see Fury won't be giving Hayes another chance ... if it was ever meant to be. Nor Joshua as he couldn't use it either as a stepping stone to a world title shot. Fury will lose next time to Klito of course. Only fight then for Hayes would be Wilder... which he won't take ... or turn up for if so. Fury blew his chances there too - obviously not stupid either after Wilder called him out too saying 'If you fight Klito instead of me then you will never be consider again as an opponent. Fury wisely said nowt! Paper and media talk only!

    Loan Offer

Well done Kiddon. Great gesture. Could really set up a new comer, and better fancier alike.
  16. Well Moscow Master some of that is true.... regards the cruiser weight THEN! When he held his own. Days gone. As a heavyweight he fought.... who and when! As for Doutnay Wilder he IS A class act who is a devastating puncher. One tough boy gone the distance in 36 fights. Plus the last three fights nigh to the end. So he IS mixing it with the best and proving his worth. Many call and threaten him lol. Me too .... just hand me the phone. America is, and has struggled big time in regards of the heavier divisions due to the good money paid in other sports Like Netball etc. And who can blame them. Two things are shown when looking at their class. A. who have they beaten then the loser was in their prime, and B. Have they 'Came Back' better afterwards? Real champs do and have as history shows. Plus one must remember and PUT it at the front of any debate 'How good are the management in contrived fights and media persuasion. PLUS as the adage goes 'One is only as good as their last fight'!
  17. Just lasted long enough to hope he earn his crust as he knew he was going on the canvas - I truly believe - when the fight was arranged... Garbage the pair of them. Haye just wants the lime light and fame.
  18. Words fail me ... I feel for you and all yours.
  19. Strangely enough Cats are suseptical. Their so called cures were...Oseltamivir (Tamiflu)the main one, Zanamivir (Relenza) and Peramivir (Rapivab. But they only help reduce the severity of the condition, prevent complications and improve the chances of survival. But Bush made a fortune... No wonder he sold his oil lol.
  20. Totally agree with that post King. Of course that statement is 100% correct. The post you asking what to look out for is like a witch hunt scenario though. Also as it isn't preventable 'why Look out for it'? One would soon know if their birds are ill or suspect to it... or most likely another ailment - or shou8ld. We don't need- especially in our game - folks / fanciers running around look - let alone worrying about that particular ailment, Which is most likely never going to have it. Could soon be classed as scare mongering and too many worrying about nothing ... needlessly! Besides, since the USA was taken to the Helsinki court for it, they have tightened it up a lot... nigh negible. That's why they brought out the 'Avian Flu'. They covered all the loop holes so that they couldn't be prosecuted... Mind some countries are still trying. Best, or worst in reality, laugh was George Bush and his hoppo George Rumpole sold their Oil shares then got the USA Senate to give him $8 billion to make a antidote that never worked- only stemmed it. Sold in package to us and around the world at £200.000 a throw. Blair bought us stacks lol
  21. Don't think we ought to be looking for tale tell signs King. Could cause mass hysteria and a very high percentage of miss called alarms. JMO
  22. You know, when I was a department manager for Finefare - remember them lol - In Mini Scotland (Corby), scotch pie, as we all call it, was the norm at breakfast via 90% I'd guess. I tried many time to like it... put up with it at best, though of course never disliked it. Strange because I love all the ingredients, lamb, the pastry etc. But never took to the scotch pie. Tried often since, but no.
  23. True Peter, and have, do and would again. In fact I will have 40 or just over in such again this y/b season.
  24. Still waiting for last two editions.
  25. As for birds to space, Peter may recall one as such. Only one I ever saw was a government one (Canadian) and it was 1 square foot per pigeon. Which of course would still be the ruling. Don't know of any D.A.F.R.A. one though. Would wager be much the same though.
