Was just shortly ago 14 for £240. Absolutely brill too. The seller wanted them to go as a Job lot.... plenty wanted just the odd one or two like. Don't recall them being sold... :-/
  5. If one looks at the 'Nationals' results, and regardless of location, one sees that naturual dominate, and hens dominate the sexes.
  6. Further a little more tolerance of the have nots and less unscrupplpus exploiting of them. Plus where the 'Haves' can, to lighten up and act with a social conscoiusness. To give commonsence a chance to prevail wouldn't go amiss either, not by a long chalk.
  7. Simply some fairness where applicable and able. Yes this sport will never have a level plying field obviously, and I quite understand, appreciate that! But simply some fairness where applicable and able would go a long way.
  8. These Brits eh ... certainly have a way of saying eh! ;D ;D

    Shame

I think it's a crying shame that a fellow fancy was called for an earlier post for no reason, having the effect that the fellow can't feel that he can - which he certainly should have been able to - sale on here. One that should never have arose, but for uncalled opinions and knocks about a fellows thoughts and being proud of his birds. Could be, and I like others have no idea in reality, that he was sad knowing that he near plans meant that he would have to be cutting back on his birds. We all saw his posts regards building a new loft etc. for he asked a bit around on this forum. - I sent him an offer where a good carpenter was free to build a bespoke one to his liking. Would have worked out far less for a great loft - but that is by and by. So am a bit miffed that he feels he can't sale his birds on a forum that he has frequented for quite some time. Yes I know this is a personal choice of his own making.... but one that possibly wouldn't have happened but for those uncalled for remarks.

If you wish I'll gladly take the birds with pleasure Jagre and donate £100 to a charity of your choice, or whatever. Further I would - as I nigh always do - fetch them! Yes that is a steal, one that should never have arose, but for uncalled oppinion and knocks. Will post this again in an appropiate topic, as I feel it will get deleted as out of place. Sorry to high jack the thread Jagre.
  12. The Irish will always have a unique way of telling it the way it is...! .......................................................... One rainy spring night in Belfast, a taxi driver spotted an arm waving from the shadows of an alley. Even before he rolled to a stop at the curb, a figure leaped into the cab and slammed the door. Checking his rear view mirror as he pulled away, he was startled to see a dripping wet, naked woman sitting in the back seat. "Where to?" he stammered. " Vale Road ," answered the woman. "OK," he said, taking another long glance in the mirror. The woman caught him staring at her and asked, "just what the hell you are looking at?'" "Well lady, replied the driver, I noticed that you're completely naked, and I was just wondering how you'll pay your fare." The woman spread her legs, put her feet up on the front seat, smiled at the driver and said, "Does this answer your question?" Still looking in the mirror, the cabbie asked, "Got anything smaller?"
  13. Yep I agree, indeed I liked one or two myself lol
  14. Great post. Quality is of the first order, and well proven yet again.
  15. Nice to see some still believe in the 'Tooth Fairy. Must live in the East I guess. Best Bird, the fastest bird wins... Yep that has been known .... I think :-/ When 'No wind'.
  16. And fix a fixing that you can fix Glass too. Pillars / blockes / kerbing etc. means vermin can clib. Cover all underneather and even up the first foot of acual loft for a permanent standing.
  17. Best you don't open and take up the offer. It is very often, if not always a loaded gun. Just had my P.c back when I open one. Strangely I phone the P.c doc and he said 'C- Rpa coming down the shoot. It certainly did. I mean we purchase good renowned Virus / Blockers etc - or have decent Free ones - watching out for our P.c when All of a sudden an intruder pops up and spouts your P.c is Lacking this that or the other and they will sort for you :-/ :-/ :-/ Er down think so. Had a few Microsoft ones too... yes are bogus one, but look exactly the same of course.

    how many

Well a proven stock / strain needs only 12 pairs to fly through out the race season. More than enough to fly both routes of North and South plus prepare and enter any nationals etc. Indeed is more than enough to clean and feed and take proper care of. Comes a time when the excess is weeded out surely! When only the birds worth keeping are breeding and racing! Each year then - after race season, and before the moult, one should sit down and take stock just what and which are going to have the perches and 12 nest boxes. A good loft cuts down and keeps a minimum. Use to be 12 race birds was enough. Now fanciers seem to breed quantities to offset the culls they are going to lose. Yes admitted C- rap happens and hits the fans every so often, and if say one year you have few y/b's left, it will mean A. less worrying about selecting and the year after a few yearlings short possibly. Just ask ones self How many winners does the average loft have in it? :-/ Then ask your selves 'How many does the 'Mob Flyer / Seller' have in theirs'? Not many, 8 would be a flipping good number of winners in most lofts. Then ask your selves just who is buying up the culls and trying to excel with them.... Indeed just who is buying up to fill up and complement the 'Townies' every new season? The hard part is attaining such birds and such a loft. But numbers kept is never going to achieve this. Like John West, keeps only the best. Then the quality – with a good introduction from time to time can only improve. Sure may well come the time when you have 36 pairs because you now wish to offset some costs and sell a 12 or so every year. Would be good eh, to say to any fancier ‘these are the 12 (6 pairs) I am keeping because…. But you can choose from any of the 12 pairs just what you want, FOR I know that they are all on parr…’!
  19. Yep sorry missed the grizle list out. Will have to look it out.

  21. Like yogurt. Dead before they reach the shelf, and certainly most if not all before you get them home. Dead Yogurt, well can't be much good of course... Especially as both are for Human gut etc. Flight Path - and other parts of it of course are far better because they are built with Avian in mind. Especially for pigeons. Any one on here use Flight path?
  22. Think it for the food. Either sold off at Market, or to some cultures that eat them. Was a case where a mate of mine ( A fancier) saw some cracking birds at the Melton Mowbry Market. He had a word with his daughter and a hold was put up on them. Was found out who's they were and the owner was over the moon. Yes had ben stolen. Now I don't know if the culprits were picked up when going for the monies. i think they wormed out of it vis saying as 'pigeon Dealers' and that they had a sign reciept. Yes there are a few 'Dealers' that sell ecvery week at the Market.
  23. Just discarded a load lol. But is very cheap, about £7 for 5 metres or something close. Come to think of it, if one fixed a 4 -5 inch block and placed another strip upside down, then it would also serve as a guard from pooing in tem as such. Will have to get the son - in - law working this week - end lol.
  24. Yes owen, I believe, - and a very good Avian said more - that 1 out of three birds / lofts are infected with such or similar strains of devilment like samonella. Unfortunately many are 'Carriers and too many fanciers don't realise their birds have it , let alone check for ... So will obviously never treat. Prevention is fine, but no way fool proof, and one must stay on top. Injected birds can still be affected, or become carriers.
