Same as Jimmy ... then Virkons regularly, every time I think about it. Also whaere applicable NOW I soak the loft with Bleach. Then Blow Torch and then Paint before mating up preferably. Will this year also inject for Para... as I believe that 1 in three lofts at least have Samonella or such. Trouble is many are just carriers and too many don't even realise it exists let alone think about checking OR even treating.

PARROT in CHURCH An elderly woman bought a parrot. The woman asked if it would behave if she took it to church with her on Sundays. The owner said it shouldn't be a problem, that she could put him on her shoulder and he would stay there. She bought the parrot, and the next week she put him on her shoulder and went off to church. Just as everyone quieted down and the sermon began, the parrot looked around, squawked and said, "It's goddamned cold in here!" Everyone turned to look at her, she ran out of the church in total embarrassment! The next day she returned to the pet store and explained the embarrassing situation to the owner. The owner offered the following solution, "If the parrot does that again, grab him by the legs and swing him around 5 times and return him to your shoulder. So, the next Sunday she took the parrot to church, and sure enough, just as the sermon started the parrot squawked, "It's goddamned cold in here!" Without any hesitation, the woman grabbed his legs, swung him around 5 times, and placed him back on her shoulder. The parrot shook his head, ruffled his feathers and said, "Pretty fook hing' windy, too!

Heard it before but ... Hair in Dogs Ears?? My neighbor found out that her dog could hardly hear, so she took it to the veterinarian. The vet found that the problem was hair in the dog's ears. He cleaned both ears, and the dog could hear fine. The vet then proceeded to tell the lady that, if she wanted to keep this from recurring, she should go to the drug store and get some "Nair" hair remover and rub it in the dog's ears once a month. The lady went to the drug store and bought some "Nair" hair remover. At the register, the druggist told her, "If you're going to use this under your arms, don't use deodorant for a few days." The lady said, "I'm not using it under my arms." The druggist said, "If you're using it on your legs, don't shave for a couple of days." The lady replied, "I'm not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I'm using it on my schnauzer." The druggist said, "Stay off your bicycle for about a week."

Now, under this heading it is Good banter' and respectively in a good place. Move to Chit chat .... Personally I think letting these as such run their course is coll as it hasn't 'Hi jacked a thread. And was tongue in cheek from the off. JMO So the 'Mods' should give lee - way as such, and be a darn site quicker in bunging off 'Hi - Jacked' posts and deleting them just replacing 'Name posted irrelevant and silly chit chat here on a topic'! Again a good thought eh! Now just how do I find a Motorway in Scotland! :-/ :-/ ;D

You know matey, you can go to ANY other club in your fed and have them mark the birds. Sec has to write partic and same clocking in. But you must have the reciept in the hand of yout Club Sec before RAace time etc. I fell out big time with a Secretary. Was going to him but thought better and took me birds for the rest of the old birds and y/b's to another club 12 miles away. The sec got his comuppance big time via another member and packed up ... not before time. But I believe it is better to amiacal and accept the club and not fall out ... they will be doing the ETs before longe and that's for sure.

No you have not offended me .... far from it. Just that every single post regards the Et, in whatever capacity it is of, the Pro ET Mobb have a field day repeating the same ole gabbage. Simply put, many that have genuine concerns or beg for an answer in regards of any subject of ET's they are out. Most must be as thick as 12 short planks ... especially when the two silliest c rap scenario are put for as if it was the first time. Won't make the birds fly any fatsre. No, but over a season at least 30 seconds or more is gained on clocking. And the other so ridiculous observation of 'It's here ... get use to it'! I'd say EVERY maual clocker knows that of by heart. Most know and appreciate why it was brought in through the back door. Right or wrong... but it's here now and that will never change. having said that the Questipn was: 'help with E.T.S' regarding advice of ones rights. the way to go forward etc. Know of clubs where they just won't be having them at all in the near future. Will be a time when clubs are reformed for 'Manual Clockers' only etc. etc. but will finish up most having them AND still like the Belgiums having to have a Manual clock set up too, especially for Nationals etc. So the ET will still score a bit as the birds won't be trap shy. Any way ........ Back to baking me bread, making a few pork pies and sausages.

Yes I remember when i had to take both my boys up inside a week to the Hospital and one having to stay in for a few days. Nurses / kinder garden etc. cared for them day and night. Always 1 or 3 on the ward. In 1984, under the Tories and Thatchers cut backs because she'd given all the wealth and silverware to her cronies - I had to take my daughter in. You wouldn't believe the change. One nurse in the day time. One nurse for 3 wards at night - where she had to have a chinese delivered because there was no kitchen open etc. there was not toys or books for the kids unless you brought them in. You had to stay with you child 24 / 7 Talk about Peadiphile haven. Public moaning at her all the while why wasn't she taking care f THEIRS .... Simple really, because most of them had voted Tory. Yes I agree that the children are the parents responcibilty, but the drastic cut backs were way over the top and not needed.... especially if she hadn't given all the coffers to her mates. No let the Canera man smile and agree to everything. Be nicer out side of saying 'Cut backs' THAT ARE FAIRER -like the Poll Tax I guess, and take out insurance for medical care etc. etc.

Agree with Chickadee, by far the lesser of two evils. Camera man David has already said he will do away with the NHS. Indeed a few times now and it’s glibly slides over ones head. - Thatcher said 'If one can't afford Medical fees then they want to budget their household better.... Besides there was no NHS 100 years ago and we all got along just fine then :-/ Was the arrow that finished her I believe ... not before time and that's for sure. Just where does one think all the other cuts are coming from :o the working class and that's for sure. Tories stand for Unemployment and war - though via Thatcher disbanded the our equivalent to S.E.C that most put into place after America did and we followed suit ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Securities_and_Exchange_Commission ) that cause the credit crunch after giving the banks a free hand in investment, which had the knock on effect that greed does. Yet Gordon is taking the blame for a WORLDWIDE crunch instigated by Thatcher. However, just to keep the NHS is more than suffice to keep the Camera man out. I see the banks are moaning again to have restraints removed stating again like Thatcher spouted. We are more than capable of running out banks etc. .... just get a few £billion ready to bale us out again. Look how Thatcher stopped training Doctors and dentists etc. and how some of us had to travel 70 - 120 miles with a tooth ache and a dentist. How it was First to phone in early morning only, if lucky with and for an emergency .... And Thatcher spouting 'People have always had toothaches, live with it, or take out an insurance policy. GO PRIVATE’! Just look at the Tories in the USA moaning and marching to block Obama's Care Bill Stuff you Jack I'm alright. Get a Job etc. As if one with decent wages were every where just to be had for the asking! Yep the NHS alone – the envy of the world – alone is enough to keep camera Man out. Baby’s / Hip replacements / all operations and medical ours as a right whether we can afford or not …. 85% or more couldn’t I’d bet.

Illegal I believe ... two two do it at least and ONE must not be you! Indeed one sticks the leg in another reads it and another places birds in thecrate. So you shouldn't even be near it, clock setter or not! However I take your point, and know where it's coming from and the intent like most.

live with the times its here and its gonna stay Cofirms demolition man. Streuth is there any one out there that didn't know!!! :B :B :( haven't seen any anti comments have we? No ones asking for a testiment are there? :o Like I say, another rather silly and stupid reply just reinforced needlessly. No one says it's not here, or isn't going to stay. So stop sweating and get real will you. Or are you Just reaffirming what everyone knows and accepts, by hi jacking a thread where some one is asking for advice! Gosh nary a thread where one dares ask for any advice or thoughts on ET's be regards what the best is, best functions, costs, how to use etc. etc. etc. where silly posts quickly swamp it with well worn out old jargon.
-
Or why does one have to repeat the same of codswallop as this every time ET is mentioned? :-/ :-/ :-/ :o Firstly it has nothing (YET again) to do with the question and secondarily Though it doesn't make a bird fly fastter IR certainly does MAKE Clocking A lot FASTER! Which improves every week too as birds don't become trap shy, where many manual clockers birds may due to just a spot to much eagerness of abrught movement... Surely one should be asking you 'What is your beef about fanciers asking'! :-/ :-/

No of course not. Mind if no one wants to learn, or no ones feels able, to set up and run it for you on 'Marking Night', then you still can't use it of corse as you can't do it your selve. then again does one want to up set all the other members :-/ Could be if you offer them 17 sec leeway on your first timer and 5 seconds every one there after some may mellow towards you. Most, most likely won't. I don't think the Fed can or would say one way or the other as it is up to individual clubs. But best be it by far to win support than any confrontation or animosity ... that may well mean you leaving the club and then no other club allow you in. You would then have to use a manual for another club to send your birds for Fed honours only. nationals etc. wouldn't affect you ... though seems that even then you will have to time in manually also like the Belgiums do etc. Remember that there is in reality very little in real terms of any sportsmanship in this or any other game. Think if you must be the odd one out, best to stay reasonable with your fellow members.

Seems Pete knows what is what.... and wasting no time there. Best of luck to him.

As one of thousands that raised and gave much money / resources etc. to that terrible disaster I feel it is an affront. Sure it is purely for greed of money. Which once again how's that it has no scruples, and is insenative ... Not thoughtless because these despicable persons know full well what they are doing and with full intentions of their own ends. There is after all very many sites and land where they can, indeed have already bought, to make money. Yes like the good book says 'The 'LOVE' of money is the route of all evils'. Not as often misquote 'Money s the route of all evil'. They have money obviously, or the means to borrow it etc. to invest. They have no doubt other ventures and venues for making money, or other options, as money will entail this.... But obviously they have bought this at the so-called 'Right' price because of where it is and what the adjoining land means to so many people. Indeed it is also legacy of the evil and corrupt bosses that put lives at risk in the interest of money. Money before lives as it could have and should have never happened. It shows that nothing has change, for it is certainly money orientated. Not that I’m against free enterprise, just the thoughtless and insenative greed of those ‘Able’. In a nut shell they have no reason whatsoever to use this site outside of extra gain. J.M.O

Regards the banter and hi jacking of topics... Bit tedious and selfish mostly I warrent. In reality, and sadly, it would mean more work for the over worked and under appreciated Mods, I believe that as soon as a topic gets way laid, after a couple or so, cut and paste it staight away and place in Chit Chat under the heading of 'Unwanted, Not needed Ego's! Most, as soon as they don't get the limelight they're carving for will moan and mutter, and when it finally sinks in that there is indeed a time, a place for everything, would eventually blatter elsewhere. Ok a years or so in some cases ;D ;D ;D As for so - called non constructive replies to the 'Mod' involved - again trying to put an intelligence second slant to a needless and futile cause - again to disrupt or clamour limelight to satisfy an never ending satisfied ego - simplely binned them and replace with 'Silly and needless post from WHERE thir original post was! ....'! Full stop. Further they don't seem to read the data to see how quickly topic are refrained from visiting ... They just to add the numbers up and they would sadly see that they are mostly the only one left viewing.... YET more sadly they have drove away many that were interested and would have continued to enjoy the topic :B :B :B Shame on them really I guess, for not only do they not wish to parcipate in the 'Topic' but quickly kill and put a stop for many others from visiting or partaking in the topic. Yes some quips and come backs are good and funny .... most are a waste of time though. Just enjoyed by a couple or so that are wrapped up with their own self importance. Suppose many will say regards this post 'Bin it' lol.

This is from an article in the St. Petersburg , FL Times Newspaper on Sunday. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?" I think this guy nailed it! Dear Mr. President: Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan: There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations: 1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed. 2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered- Auto Industry fixed. 3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage- Housing Crisis fixed. 4) They MUST buy their own health insurance. Health Plan for seniors just fixed!!! It can't get any easier than that! If more money is needed, have all members of Congress and their constituents pay their taxes... I'm up for it lol ;D ;D

FROM THE CANADIAN VENISON COUNCIL: Controversy has long raged about the relative quality and taste of venison and beef as gourmet foods. Some people say that venison is tough, with a strong "wild" taste. Others insist that venison's flavor is delicate. An independent food research group was retained by the Venison Council to conduct a taste test to determine the truth of these conflicting assertions once and for all. First, a Grade A Choice Black Angus steer was chased into a swamp a mile and a half from the road and shot several times. After some of the entrails were removed, the carcass was dragged back over the rocks and logs, and through mud and dust to the road. It was then thrown into the back of a pickup truck and driven through rain and snow for 100 miles before being hung out in the sun for 10 days. After that it was lugged into a garage, where it was skinned and rolled around the floor for a while. Strict sanitary precautions were observed throughout the test, within the limitations of the butchering environment. For instance, dogs and cats were allowed to sniff and lick the steer carcass, but were chased away when they attempted to bite chunks out of it. Next, a sheet of plywood left from last year's butchering was set up in the basement on two saw horses. The pieces of dried blood, hair and fat left from last year were scraped off with a wire brush last used to clean out the grass stuck under the lawn mower. The skinned carcass was then dragged down the steps into the basement where half a dozen inexperienced but enthusiastic and intoxicated men worked on it with meat saws, cleavers and dull knives. The result was 375 pounds of soup bones, four bushel baskets of meat scraps, and a couple of steaks that were 1/8" thick on one end and 1 1/2" thick on the other. The steaks were seared on a glowing red hot cast iron skillet to lock in the flavor. When the smoke cleared, rancid bacon grease was added along with three pounds of onions, and the whole conglomeration was fried for two hours. The meat was gently teased from the frying pan and served to three blindfolded taste panel volunteers. Every one of the members thought it was venison. One of the volunteers even said it tasted exactly like the venison he had been eating in hunting camps for the last 27 years. The results of this scientific test show conclusively that there is no difference between the taste of beef and venison.

Had a loverly hen same month bred, last week in August. Next season she won the scottish averagest on her own9 wasn't enen a yearling, including 2nd Thurso , 3rd Frazerburgh and a couple of cards on way. Did this three times, and was - with 6 daughters only day birds from Thurso 3 years back.

Very true Billy ... just look at the Royal family. Why incest is illegal in humans. The downside hits sooner or later, mostly sooner unless very well up dated and then very seldom use the practise.
-
Louella - and the Ole man was arguably in top three stockmen of all time... George Bussearts was possibly the No 1 of all time.- But that is all open to debate obviously. Yet you can buy double GREAT grand children of the greats. These are proven to excell in good fanciers hands. I wonder if many lofts have the calibre of birds to warrent this, as to buying in the blood.

Personally I believe that WE ALL know there is too much side on this - besides other threads - and it is distracting, and let's face it just like many other topics where members won't and ond don't post because of side swipes and side swipe WHETHER in good taste or intention. Afraid this will happen and spoil a great thread too. I wouldn't put my family / Joyce or me up, and that's not because we are too beautiful too lol. So yes as we all know - whether we like or wish it or not, there is too much distraction - Like this irrelevant post. So I've drawn my line under this post and will just look in from time to time - like so many others now.

If one looks at the Alsation dogs etc. and see the results that have happened over a period of time, one may quickly realise that they are only good for 'Showing. Their backs are weaker, the A R Se has all but disappeared, the temprement is very suspect, a lot worse than it was etc. etc. Indeed nigh all creatures incest bred.
-
Karl, I agree totally with Owen's prior post, and most of his last post. Until one, especially the one doing the incest breeding, fully understands the whys and wherefores it is very much a downward exercise regards your birds. Would I ever do it! No, I certainly know enough to know it is a 'Master Stockman's' game. In my oppinion it is the main reason the buildings and churches are getting fuller with NEW stock each year. But if you want to try and decide to go down that road, then good luck to you. Personally I would try line breeding which has the same - if not better results and no deteriational effects of course.
