Having been to Holland when my youngest was playing in a tournament and saw first hand how their youngsters were developed I have to admit I was extremely impressed. They have to be one of the main contenders to make the final not just in this world cup but every one.

Scottish Central Combine

Congrats to the winners. It was a pity no-one in the Midland seems to have known about it or are we no longer in the Combine ?. -

Supercilious, I had to look up in dictionary. What a cracking word to describe certain chappies on Basics LOL

Firstly I have never complained at any time in the past or intend to in the future regarding any of the convoyers who are in charge of our birds as I have always held them in the greatest esteem. It was to be a magnificent and enlightening report John posted informing us on basics what was the duties he was carrying out enroute to Buckingham, I posted originally what I believed to be the way forward for the future with perhaps the SNFC Management Committee wishing to look that way.(wishfull thinking). I took the position of experience and looked at the Marking Station times starting at Aberdeen, John rightly stated that birds would have been basketed and away from the loft from 09.00 Hrs on Thursday without water, Dont they put drinkers on the baskets at Aberdeen ?. The Aberdeen baskets would then be taken to Dundee where they would be offloaded and drinkers put on in the wait to depart to Novar in Fife Where I assume they would be given water again before placing on the transporter at 18.00 Hrs. Therefore the North birds and the Transporter would have been on its way to pick up the remaining Marking Stations. To my way of thought their would have been 2 drivers working in tandem and although the transporter left Gretna at 01.30 it could and should have been in Buckingham at 06.00 as overnight travel down the M6 is extremely light. I dare say one or two people might wonder how it took so long to reach Gretna when Springfield marking station closed at 21.00 Hrs. This post is not intended to belittle anyone as it is my view on the situation with our birds now facing their third night in a basket when we all knew this was going to be the case and perhaps been avoided as done with other organisations.

WHY... When the Met forecast for the next 4-5 days is extremely doubtful for a successful Buckingham race have our committee not taken the bull by the horns and advised the membership of a possible Friday liberation. The transporter would have been on site by 09.00 Hrs this morning and could have prepared for an 11.00 liberation which would have the birds arriving into the Borders at 17.00 Hrs, Central Scotland 18.00 Hrs and the North Sec for 20.00. This in my and many others thought's, would have been the sensible action of a Committee who have the SNFC foremost in their endeavours for the success of the club. The excuse that the Management Committee is not mandated to make those decisions does not apply as they are appointed to look after its races or anything connected therewith. SNFC Rule Book, P5, R6, Para{1}.

C'mon Peter you know it makes sense

Last year I split my team and sent half down the East with F&C and the other half with Midland. I dropped 2 with F&C and 23 with Midland down the West route. This year I started with 48 and flew them all with Midland down the West and at present I have 14 left with 5 of them damaged by Hawk strikes. To take this a little further I have noticed my birds no longer come straight from the South but are returning from the North East and North West. It is obvious they are not coming through the Southern Uplands for whatever reason but coming round them. I definately will not be participating in any further carnage to my birds flying the West route ever again. Trying to build a team is impossible on this route. As I was writing this a 2 y/o dropped in from the first race Gretna lib 19 April

Derek, Are you not on the SNFC Committee ? If so I am sure you can contact Doc Lynch and put it to him.

Should the SNFC delay race marking.

Midland liberated 10.15 Worcester light south wind.

Young Birds bred at this time of year are superior to others bred early or too late in the season due to the longer hours of daylight so they develop quicker. You may have heard or read the old saying BRED IN THE PURPLE well June, July and August is that period.

I found Unicon extremely helpful when I went personally to their office to complain about a brand new pad never used and just out of the box. Their technician tested it and said it would cost me £90 plus VAT to repair with no guarantee or I could purchase a new one for £120 with a year's. I took the new one and left a small message to pass on "Bunch of Robbing Bstrds".

I think it will be a certainty with Messr's Garvin, McKee and George Truesdale running the show. Wonder which Fed Chapelhall will be in next year ? according to the rumours..
-
Extremely pleased to say that the Scottish Midland Fed have had a good race and returns from Appleby on what could have been an iffy one.
-
No idea Wattie but I think a complete review of racing requires looking at. For instance the weather forecasts for this week-end were iffy to say the least SO why could we not have went for a Friday or Monday race ? Why in this day and age do we have to have Saturday racing as its not like in the past when we all worked five and a half days. JMO.
