  1. Has that you reached three score years and ten ?? Many happy returns auld yin
  2. I used to use my lit fag end then a dollop of surgical spirits.
  3. Very pleased you have a satisfactory conclusion although I have never seen a white tic. When I worked on the estates it was a regular job removing them from my Labs and they were always brown or black (blood filled).
  4. Its not a tick, more like a glandular pimple and if its itchy she will scratch it off.
  5. The Fed result was up on the notice board from Ripon last week and my "711" was 4th Midland Federation.
  6. Training for me from the same spot tells a story regarding your reeult for the week-end race. In the past I trained Wed & Thur from Carstairs. If the birds flew it in 40 minutes regardless of wind and weather then I knew I would be clocking the winner on the Saturday. However if they took longer ie 45 minutes then I knew they were not going to be in the frame. The moral of the story is it tells you if they are fit and in the mood for racing or flying.
  7. Latest news just off the phone, John is patiently waiting for an MRI scan with a consultant to ascertain the problem.
  8. You better get yir backside oot the bed cos the nurses have enough tae dae withoot lookin efter you an am still waitin oan ma fence posts and young yins. LOL
  9. My birds have excellent taste ! when straying they always enter top of the range lofts! No ramshackles for them as they are a bit of upper class LOL
  10. Beat by 6 Mts Rab and the weather conditions were far from ideal. Their is a wee rumour going around that the Combine on the same transporter had three seperate liberations and I hope it is just that, although the Fed velocities suggest the possibility of it being fact.
  11. "711" 4th club 4th Midland Federation Ripon 158 miles.
  12. *expletive removed* aff Stevie 21 frae 31 and their's ayways the morra when the weather's better LOL.
  13. Aye roughly 25,000 birds away must be some sight.
  14. Last week Stevie !! I cannot remember what I done yesterday far less last week unless it was to strike up other views and posts in an endeavour to make interesting conversation. :emoticon-0138-thinking:
  15. Cold North West wind and a dead sky where you could not find the sun from 11.00 Hrs here in Falkirk all heading down into the race point may have also contributed to the returns. I am sure like many will agree that Yearlings dont relish those kind of days and Percie cannot take them in their hundreds. Having watched them hunt they will stop a batch and take them up a height circling underneath then when one breaks Percie dives on it with the batch then continuing on its way. I have witnessed this on a few occasions. To my mind you had a cold head wind all the way into Ayrshire where unfit birds just wont make it. It is a true saying that we should look into a mirror first and foremost.
  16. IHU 14 S 104330 BLUE PIED COCK
  17. Thanks Mik I will post the complete No to-morrow and see what transpires.
  18. It has reached the stage where we cannot train ourselves without taking a hit and I for one am getting a tad peed off that I cannot make legal amends to safeguard my property. Their must be a get out as "T" in the park have secured their concert without prosecution for disturbing a protected species from nesting in the vicinity regardless of complaints from RSPB and Scottish Heritage. We should have had a concerted effort during spring before racing commenced by all fanciers to stop the slaughter. :emoticon-0126-nerd:
  19. I was thinking it was from the South !! So their would be a degree of difficulty.
  20. I was handed by a non fancier a pigeon which he caught easily at his workplace and I wondered if it was possible to repatriate it ?. The ring No is IHU 14 S ???? wherever that is in Ireland any help would be appreciated, and complete No will be completed to-morrow. I am in Falkirk.

    When

Steve I never gave it a thought that my and all the others who are birds missing from yesterday were not fit or healthy. Personally 2 weeks past, samples were taken, and sent for analysis and given a clean bill of health. As regards fitness I only lost 5 in all the training they had and none racing. They also have freedom at the loft 8 hrs daily. All were sitting eggs and motivated naturally plus I double handle all my birds and if not 100% then dont go. I cannot speak for others but am sure the quality of fanciers missing experienced birds would not be taking chances with them.
