The Press Officer of the SNFC gave a detailed report of the meeting in the BHW a couple of weeks ago where it was unanimously agreed by the Management Committee that the correct procedure was carried out to the benefit and care of the birds. As far as I am concerned as a member this is now water under the bridge, Get a life and move on.

FIRSTLY, Let me appologise for anything posted by myself last night as it was due to waiting for an arrival which never happened so started looking at a different bird in a bottle of grouse. I genuinely never intended to upset any one however I probably have so once again my sincerest appologies to those concerned.

WHY ? It was p~@sing down at Preston all morning especially at 10.00 and our so-called race controllers had packed the job in because they were under the impression they were being undermined. However it is the officials who determine what and where the race will take place to the successful return of the candidates we have sent and they should have abided with their station.

Perhaps that is the problem with me. I changed my methods to modern ways but I will now go back to the old and trusted ways without the mollycodling of youngsters, and feeding mainly beans. At present I am feeding grub at £16.50 a bag and I know I wont get more than 4-5 Hrs racing out of them. I wonder how many fanciers have waited in vain to-day with the same thought's going through their heads. My philosophy has always been if that loft can get one so should I.

Thanks for the kind thoughts as I am experienced enough to know that they will return eventually in their own time. Having had to start again from scratch last year the birds I sent were mostly yearlings that were very lightly treated as youngsters and I will not be going down that road again. I have never before in all my years never clocked on the day in an inland race but blame no-one but myself.

Sorry I have not been updated since 19.00. Personally I have 0 from 4 and can only say they were not good enough on the day.

Approximately 30 birds sent from the village 4 lofts only 2 gallant birds made the day.

I have had a crap day too but like others I want him to name them or is that to difficult to understand !!.
