  1. Take it you be a tory then.
  2. Is this post anything to do with newsletter from SNFC ?.
  3. Derek, The burnt youngsters you had returning after their alleged misshap with low flying jets strikes me as odd !! I would have thought they would have been incinerated. JMO.
  4. Old bird racing down the West I lost the largest bulk of the team racing with an East wind. Young bird racing down the west so far losses have been acceptable to date, however first young bird race I entered was an East wind and I dropped 1/3 of my team, with virtually west winds since I have been getting 100% returns. Have we all short memories and forgot the East winds we have had to contend with this past year regardless which route was taken.!!.
  5. Aye yer back but not all there after eating yer dangly bit LOL.

  10. You must not use Milton on stainless steel as it has a corrosion affect. Dr Lynch would be able to inform you better than I.
  11. Different eye cere as well. As for other comments ! What are you getting at ?.
  12. Going by the times posted the North West Fed may have been the batch which came out the West via Camelon heading East at 09.40 with Midland birds in with them as 2 broke off and Uncle Albert timed one and I the other. Why would North West birds be so far West ???.
  13. 1/3 of my team lost on Saturday from Eaglesfield.
  14. Nothing since 18.00 last night 17 home from 27 1 @ 16.00 in pouring rain 9 still to make it.
  15. I think its absolutely marvelous for all you guys having great returns and wonder what my friends and I birds are doing wrong. Last week 60% returns into Denny in the Midland Fed topped by Uncle Albert aka Peter Brown, this week same race point Eaglesfield 70 miles Liberated 07.55. At 09.43 30 birds flew over the top of my loft heading east into Falkirk. Where did they come from ?. At 17.00 Their were 4 batches of 200-300 in each going back and fourth along the Forth and Clyde canal they could not all be ours as we only had 40% losses again yesterday and they could not be Midland,Lanarkshire,Glasgow or Forth and Clyde as you guys have great returns perhaps I am being sceptical.

  18. Pigeons are easily bored and those kept on deep litter peck at the bedding and ingest some of the dry powdered droppings. In this way they are continually dosing themselves with faecal bacteria, similar to being dosed with probiotics.
  19. We used to get decent racing and returns from Avranches / Sartilly, Rennes and Nantes. WHY because the birds came up the Cherbourg peninsular and were not given any option but to face and cross the channel. When in their wisdom the membership decided to go further east in France the birds were given the option of the French coastline to turn either east or west. With the prevailing winds being south west most dont cross the channel but head north through Holland and are lost in the Scandinavian countries. If questions are to be asked ? With the exception of the UNC do all the English races from France not draw a line from Cherbourg south ?.
  20. Thank-you for the info its much appreciated.
  21. Do away with meaningless inland nationals and revert back to promoting long distance racing into Scotland which USED to be the OBJECT of the Scottish National Flying Club.
  22. Geez, you are asking me with alka seltzer my top 5 races in 30 years ?. Well I suppose timing in every race I have went to with the exception of last years y/b national when I sent 1 and did not get her till the following day and cheltenham national where I am still waiting for the 4 I sent must count for something. Can we bear in mind that my previous remark was regarding constitution of a birds ability to withstand hardship and therefore hopefully give confidence of the birds ability to the fancier. I practice this course of action due to sending very few birds to a race and I want to feel confident within myself that what I do send will be in confidence of its constitution. I do believe the best 5 results to my memory which to me were unforgetable would have to be sending 1 to win 2nd open 400 miles. sending 1 to be 3rd open 400 miles. sending 1 to be 13th national 670 miles. sending 1 to be 196th national 560 miles and sending 1 to be 43rd national 640 miles. I remember the international winner being Van-Eidjen and his video told all.
  23. Which marking stations ? Can you duplicate from the SNFC into the Combine ? Where do you get race sheets etc ?
  24. Anybody have information regarding the Combine 500ml race ?.
  25. The Press Officer of the SNFC gave a detailed report of the meeting in the BHW a couple of weeks ago where it was unanimously agreed by the Management Committee that the correct procedure was carried out to the benefit and care of the birds. As far as I am concerned as a member this is now water under the bridge, Get a life and move on.
