  3. The Mrs came into my office and said I am to old for that type of music so I gave you the blame Andy LOL
  4. SNAP
  5. Thanks Derek, I had already looked at "e" bay and saw nothing compatable for my requirments however the site you put me on is definately worth a try and ordered 2. Will let you know if they do the business as the ones I had in the past fitted into light sockets with the needle requiring hoovering every week.
  6. Any fancier with the bayonet type Mountain Breeze Ionisers for sale. ??
  7. W.D.40 freezes. Nitro Glycerin will explode if you give the padlock a shake LOL. The best answer to frozen locks is a Chefs Torch purchased from any good store. Buy one for the wifes xmas and tell her you have a passion for brullee that way you kill two birds with one stone.
  8. I found them to be most helpful in the past when I first obtained one 6 years old used it for 3 years and only changed the filters before selling it. Cannot understand how you managed to go through 4 in ten years. Screwfix are selling their own brand which looks to me as if it is supplied by Bradwest at £299.
  9. Did you try recharging the batteries !!.
  10. I assume you are enquiring of the Bradwest Air Cap ??. If so they are absolutely brilliant.
  11. This is the bit I dont understand Owen, If warm air rises to exit I assume via the roof.. 1] What heates the air up ?. 2] Where does the air come from to be heat up ?.

  13. In one of my old lofts 1988 - 2002 I fitted 2 ins thick Polystyrene blocks between the 2x2 uprights and have to admit the loft was decidedly cosier however one of the birds took a notion to polystyrene and started eating the walls to no visible harm I must say so I left them to it untill I stopped it by fitting thin ply over all the walls. Noticing the post moved on to ventilation or draughts as I prefer to call it I have never been able to tell the difference which is which as I believe they are one of the same ??.
  14. Mony a mickle mak a muckle an rools ur oanly guidlines LOL.
  15. Dal2, when registering bird into the clock can your SHU registration No not be included either before or after the ring No. After all their is nothing in the rules that says only one person can time in.
  16. In all the years I have kept pigeons I have experienced 3 birds with Blood Quills that I know of. 1] A Blue Pied Cock in the early seventies who raced his entire career from the yearling stage onwards and won 10 club nominations from 65 miles to 400 miles in 3 years and was clocked from Beuvais 1st Fed with Usher Vaux beating the entire West Section by 2 1/2 hours. 2] A black Splashed Latebred cock was 3rd Fed Open 400 miles with a nest Blood Quill all his days, Lost at 650 miles. 3] This year Cheq Pied young bird 1st Fed 114 miles. I am afraid I dont see it as a weakness nor any ailment however I must admit it is annoying to see and its not hereditry nor detrimental to the rest of the loft inmates.IMO
  17. I see where you are coming from dal2 after reading ETS rules however their may be a way of each registration requirment from 1 ETS clock but would have to talk to someone more knowledgeable regarding same.
  18. ONE ETS.
  19. I have show'n how you personally recieve all the acclaim for winning the national.IMO.
  20. I would assume that to enter this One Loft Race it would take the following format. If you intended to enter say 2 youngsters you would have to be prepaired to apply to the SNFC as Joe Bloggs No 2, Your loft location would be the Lat & Long of the One Loft Location which would be registered at the Scottish Homing Union in whosoevers name was the organiser. Their would be no need to transfer the 2 entries due to them flying in your name. Drawbacks ;- You would have to register with the SHU as Joe Bloggs No 2 as an individual member and have rings registered [ transferred ] into your No 2 registered name and Loft Location, You would also have to apply to the SNFC as Joe Bloggs No 2 with the wish to fly the Young Bird National which in my view is not to much of an intrusion. I do believe the SNFC will wholehardy accept this venture as it is guaranteed new membership from all who participate. Put me down for a couple of places please.
  21. Lewis, I sincerely hope your memory stays as it is as you reach old age and thanks for correcting my lapses in my rambling's. Perhaps you should update your Rooster to Bamber LOL.
  22. Well ma Mrs did.xxx
  23. Garbage: I feed a high protein diet and never experienced blue tongue in any of my birds
  24. Mrs Mack was making supper and using the cast iron gridle set the fire alarm off. Now where was I ? oh aye fanciers past and present, Well when I started up I had to compete in a 43 member club with a 1 mile radius and many fanciers were in the same boat however we had to compete in the Fed against the likes of the Ogilvie's, Jock Reid, Bert Hunter, etc and Rooster unfortunately has not a clue regarding others who can not get a mention due to my memory however I do know one thing these fanciers had to compete up to 6,500 thousand pigeons from the first race to the last which the present fanciers have never had to compete against. I have to agree that the present top fancier Tam Blair has without doubt set a standard however it is only over the past couple of years and down the East coast.
  25. Just recently there was a post enquiring about a certain fancier which brought about comments regarding how this fancier was the best the Federation has ever produced if not Scotland and I am rather peeved at the comments by non members of that federation or comments by those not old enough to know better. I am about to entertain you regarding the North West Federation Scotland. This Fed was the 2nd sometimes the 3rd largest Fed in Scotland enjoying at its height 800 members for the 20 square miles the majority of its fanciers were in compared to the 40 square 800 members of Fife and 200square miles of Lanarkshire with 1200 members. The Fed runs from South East to North West hence its name and is roughly 2 miles wide and 10 miles long. No other Federation could boast the type nor concentration of members any where in Britain. Will complete soonest as there is an emergency
