  6. We timed in today at 11.18 from Folkestone (as yet we don't know if it is any good) doing slightly over a mile a minute at 11.37 we received a phone call from a stranger who had picked up one of our birds off the floor - exhausted, by the side of Ripon canal Ten minutes or so later this couple rang and asked our post code and said they were coming over - to go to the beach as they fancied a run out- at 12.45 this pigeon was delivered to my door by these non fanciers A thank you seems so inadequate

  10. Also if you look on the NEHU site under strays - you will find contact details for the Polish union, phone number and e-mail address - the Polish website is poor and difficult to navigate though
  11. Just a curiosity question really. You have a good cock and hen but neither has ever bred anything, would you pair a son of a hen, and a hen offspring from the cock (son & daughter) not related, and do you think they would have a better chance of producing the goods, where the parents did not - or is it just pot luck?
  12. You could e mail the RPRA, SHU & NEHU to see if it's registered with them

  15. I have just looked at the provisional NRCC result from Fraserburgh and birds were timed in at 11.00pm 11.30pm and 11.56pm yesterday, I have heard of birds being timed in on the continent in the early hours of the morning, out of curiosity what is the latest/earliest times you have timed in (and do you train your birds late at night etc) for me it's 9.30pm - not very late (but I don't train late and I wouldn't to be honest leave the loft open either so that birds could trap)
  16. It would be easier to report as you get the owners derails straight to your e mail address www.nehu.co.uk/reportstraynehu.asp
  17. Thanks everybody x
  18. 1st Club and 1st Federation. Hallelujah! At last. The last time we topped the federation was in 2012 - with its granddam My other half bought a bottle of 15 year old single malt in 2015 to open on this such occasion - I don't think he expected to have to wait this long! We were also 6th & 7th club, 10th & 11th fed 1016 birds
  19. 160 miles in 140 minutes
  20. But that's pigeon racing, if they set off in a North wind and wind turns South at the Scottish border it would be won further up, only one combine race in the Up North Combine has been won by the shorter flyers so far this season, they've all been won at the top end by the longer flyers
  21. Birds doing 2000+ypm this morning
  22. Put your organisations liberation details below, and Good Luck to all racing this weekend
  23. Several years ago I had a similar bag from different manufacturer but noticed the weevils straightaway, returning the corn to the corn merchant who gave us a different brand, and said he would take it up with the manufacturer. I've never used the brand since, I've also had rat poison in a bag and complained to trading standards, but they said there isn't a 'standard' for pigeon corn (so that's OK to poison my birds then) it was blue pellets so noticed pretty much straightaway, it was a bag of hemp this time, the manufacturer said 'we don't use rat poison' and sent me another bag of hemp - you could see the blue pellets in that one without even opening the bag, nobody gives a toss! All you can do is boycott the corn like I have done - and maybe have a go at them at Blackpool if you have an audience!!!!
