" Ashington leading lady" and "Ashington at last" two of there very best racers,bill bainton passed away some years ago but son Keith is still very much on the go and was a founder member of today's Central Southern Classic,John harwood of the Bhw was best pals with these lads and could have all the info and articles you are looking for mossgeil.

Great stuff Lewis,some real top flyers on the result,think Owen and Peter timed "Tinto never say die" their next section winner was "Tinto macsiccar" From Nantes,Matt caufield with a cracker and also local lad Hughie Sutherland along the road in Torrance who I believe also bred 2nd open Nantes for BIlly and David Davidson,the legend jock with a couple and the winner Peter Virtue with his first of many national winners,tons of more cracking fanciers,this is what racing is about.

Just reading the report on the above fanciers who have had an absolutely fantastic last few seasons at the distance flying with the SNFC,two really top gentlemen of the sport who are racing at the moment one of the finest hens in Europe namely" KINGDOM SPIRIT" and what a champion she is. Refreshing reading Joe Murphy's report on the lads with some excellent non doctored photos of their top birds and not the usual tosh that we are subjected too of late in the doo papers!! The article is on Page 16 of this weeks Bhw,back garden fanciers with superbly bred distance birds and also a cracking game plan that works!! Well done wee George and Brian.

  11. Just in from a wee night out,had an enjoyable afternoon at Newmains at the very first show held by the Lanarkshire social circle. YOUNG HENS WINNER JOHN QUINN YOUNG COCKS WINNER GARETH RANKIN OLD HENS WINNER GARETH RANKIN OLD COCKS WINNER J & J HOOD BEST IN SHOW. J & J HOOD hope this is a start to a good wee day in the future and hope we can get more members along. Well done. to A Blyth and H Wallace for sponsoring the classes and well done all who took part. And a big thanks to the judges.

  23. If there are Lewis they will be like hens teeth!! Top bird flown by a master of distance racing,nearly 50 years winning at the distance,no messing about with mr Ellis!! Send them on and breed off what comes home! great stuff.
  24. Bob I have articles going back 100 years when lads were timing birds from over 600 miles and good vels etc,the birds must be tested and when we stop this the doo game in Scotland is finished!!!
