  1. I have just finished making up the members financial commitments for this year.A member who buys 50 rings with the addition of club fees, federation fees and SHU fees has to part with £94.50. This equates to £7.87 per calendar month. Obviously it costs more for more rings and for partnerships. I have no comment to make on this other than to point out that membership of my pigeon club compares favourably with membership of golf clubs or bowling clubs and the like. Interestingly while preparing for our AGM ,presenting a balance sheet and all the other tasks which fall to a club secretary I sometimes reflect on my friends and colleagues who make a close examination of the floor at their feet when the call goes out for fanciers to fill positions of office in clubs and federations.
  2. Is the SHU fees not £17 which includes the 50 p for medical research
  3. Transporter owned by the federation
  4. It would be a big help to the management deliberations of my federation if I had some idea what other organisations paid their convoyers/drivers.Any information passed to me through the message system on this site would of course be received in strict confidence.

  14. The system has worked well as far as the Solway is concerned for the ten years I have been SHU delegate, as has already been explained the rings are obtained from Linda at the December meeting ,handed over to the federation secretary who sorts them out for the clubs and makes them available to club secretaries from the first week in January. I was unable to attend the meeting on Sunday because of an inability to drive after a cataract operation and I notified the secretary accordingly.
  15. It is the same comedy every year at this time I have a member who will contact at Christmas looking for rings others will not pair up till March.Incidentally I got a letter from Unikon this morning asking me to join our club to Unikon Club at an annual cost of £84.We have never joined Unikon Club,I wonder if anyone else on this site has experience or knowledge of the supposed benefits of membership of Unikon Club.

The SNP are to blame for the extinction of dinosaurs on Skye The SNP are to blame for not approving what the Herald call strikes by Scottish jet fighters ( thought we voted no that would make them British fighters ) Surely it's all clear SNP.
