  1. Solway Fed has had their own website for nearly three years
  2. Does anyone on this site have any knowledge of Raceday the club result site sold by Boddy and Ridewood.I have one about 6 years old and I have spent nearly a whole day trying to install three new racepoints,it keeps telling me I am in error and then freezes the whole laptop.I have uninstalled and re-installed it three times. Most frustrating
  3. Hi, I will be at Harwich on 30th.April with a car to get on the DFDS ferry to Esjberg if it is of any help Walter Swanston
  4. HI, I let out my race team here in Dumfrieshire on beautiful sunny morning today, it was their first outing since Octoberthe time was exactly 10 a.m.The sparrow hawk struck at 10.25 a.m. I rescued the pigeon Ok but took all day to get the rest of the birds back into the loft, I am not complaining but I have put an enormous time and effort into the pigeon fancy over the past 20 years and the never ending struggle against hawks is very depressing.
  5. The birdage for 2010 is to be set tomorrow evening in our federation (Solway)For the sake of giudance what is the birdage in other federations in Scotland.
  6. This is a very thorny subject, but to the best of my knowledge the SHU claim that the ETS pads must be "within the loft",this would appear to include traps or sputniks.Ideally the pigeon would enter the trap via bob wires or something similiar thus making it impossible for the bird to fly off after having triggered the clock by setting down on the pad.Others may disagree.
  7. Earlier today I contacted a fancier about a stray yearling lost from a race. The fancier told me that he was quite happy with my offer to drive the pigeon up the road a bit and release it so that hopefully it could fly home. At which point he told me that the bird would then be "for the bin". The bird in question is a bright healthy looking blue hen which I now feel entitled to keep. What is the opinion of forum members on a situation such as this
  8. It is unlikely that there will be a race from Newbury before Monday because of the weather. This situation was reasonably predictable as far back as last Tuesday.Should a debate not be opened up on this site about the advisability of sending pigeons off in almost the full knowledge that a race was extremely unlikely on either Saturday or Sunday.Other organisations appear to be more flexible than the SNFC
  9. I can vividly remember the 3rd.September 1939, but I still have an enormous amount still to learn about racing pigeons
