  1. Birdage Lockerbie. Shap 16 April 204 Charnock Richard 23 April 267 Charnock Richard 30 April 195 Seems to be going down a bit I don't know if these figures are directly connected to pigeon losses but I think it's too early to tell.Interesting all the same.
  2. Lockerbie 11 members sent 195 pigeons to Charnock Richard with the Solway
  3. Lockerbie sent 267 pigeons to Charnock Richard with the Solway
  4. What's the times Mr Murray Sorry did not read the post properly
  5. I am 65 miles from the first racepoint for the Solway (Shap). The forecast is for a maximum temperature of 8 degrees celcius with occasional showers and a fairly brisk NNE wind.I have looked forward to this since last September but I know if I send doos in these conditions I will probably not see them again.Pigeon racing in Scotland starts too early and takes no account of climate change.
  6. I am thinking of going online with my club bank account and remitting the weekly birdage money online to the federation bank account. Is there anyone on here with experience of these matters who could advise me on this
  7. Billy I was warned off this thread for no taking it seriously enough, but I think you're right somebody's got an agenda
  8. Quite correct Mr.Hunter I don't care enough and will refrain from further comment.
  9. Yes well I am sorry that you think I am deluded Davie but my position remains the same ,it's extremely simple,if a pigeon is home it's home and that's it so far as I am concerned and if someone subsequently disqualifies my winner I genuinely could not care less I will always know I won and so will everybody else.
  10. Yeah right in the unlikely event of me winning any kind of pigeon race and in the even more unlikely event of any apparatchik turning up here to challenge the position of my ETS system well good luck to them I will know and everyone else will know that the fancier who gets the result is really second but as I only fly pigeons for fun I really don't care and as I have already said rules are for the guidance of the wise and the obedience of the foolish.
  11. Absolutely correct, when a bird hits the loft it's home.Interestingly these controversies are always started by the users of conventional timing clocks and seldom by ETS users.
  12. Poor weather herein in Dumfriesshire,as I said last week climate change means that pigeon racing in Scotland starts too early
  13. I apologise for the sarcasm could not resist
  14. Try the antiques roadshow
  15. 100% correct Mr. Boswell the attendance at the SHU AGM is a joke, usually about 5 members attend
  16. Yeah and the very best of luck to the official who tells the fancier who thinks he has won that he is disqualified.
  17. Congratulations Mr.Banner second time around is definitely the best
  18. Davie you are correct in your observation that ETS is probably the most significant advance in our sport in many years.I recollect ferociously arguments over the efficiency of antique timing clocks,I have seen exhausted pigeons picked up and carried towards lofts to be timed in, I have heard of guys going about with T3 clocks strapped to their body chasing tired doos to time them in,I haves seen pigeons so traumatised by rough handling that they refuse to trap.Ifa bird is home it's home it is as simple as that no matter where the ETS pad is.And by the way if you have not used your Unikon system for 8 years it's gonnae need batteries.
  19. Remember the words of Winston Churchill. "rules are made for the guidance of the wise and the obedience of the foolish",
  20. When somebody says "I still time in with a T3 and have no axe to grind" they're winding you up boys.
  21. Pigeon racing in Scotland starts too early. The weather in April can be and often is atrocious with heavy rain and cold east winds. All you veteran flyers are ignoring climate change unless things are different in tropical Lanarkshire. One thing I do know is that I have seen over the years is that a few successful fanciers do not show face at the pigeon marking until the first week in May.
  22. The Solway can be up about that number on a couple of young bird races.
  23. I tried deep litter with easiibed, for me it was more trouble than it was worthI was ankle deep in a mixture of easier and pigeon droppings, maybe I din not do it right but I could not stand it.Eventually Yeboah built me new lofts and I now scrape out religiously once often twice a day, if I could think of a way to get them dry I would scrub them.
