  1. Well let 'em fetch the council round. An electric fence is perfectly legal if you put notices up to warn people. Barbed wire is not legal. Cat deterants are worth a go. Electric fence is better. A dog is good too. We've all been pestered with cats. Two detterants are always better than one.
  2. There's grit all year round but when did you last change it. I change mine twice a week when breeding. Sounds like calcium deficiency to me. Fresh shell grit me thinks
  3. What's that all about then mate

So I lost a young un off the top last year and he has just turned up with a white marker ring. Why do people do it I'd have given him away !
  7. Well I've had a grizzle fly Perth and Palamos and a barless mealy 2nd sec 20th national so any colour will do the biz. Think there may be 1or 2 hawks between Perth and Palamos ;D
  8. Pete on the map tiz around 80 mile cherbourg to southampton if they come in a straight line that' :)ll be more for you then :-/ My birds have done 750 mile Bakes mate don't give em too many inland for the distance, and two year olds will fly Tarbes for ya. Best o' luck to you both, that first 600 miler in the clock is a bit special
  9. Mate publish the email address then we can all ask questions they will avoid
  10. Too cold for latebreds. Mine will go in May / June and race out to 280 mile.
  11. My young uns cross the channel out to 280 mile just the once mind half a dozen inland first. My yearlings go out to 515 mile and two year olds are expected to go 600+ My 2004 grizzle having flown Palamos at 751 mile will go to Tarbes 634 miles this year with the international along with my 2 year olds. Tiz just my way.
  12. I use bleach and cider vinegar but my god do not use them together
  13. Mate for a long time I knew of people that used houshold bleach in the drinking water on return from a race. For may be 6 or 7 years I knew this and just couldn't do it my self. Did it last year at the first 2 young bird races and never had ybs. I used to deliver powder cement to where the mixers loaded. Strangely enough the local pigeons drank the water and were generaly very healthy. They seem to thrive on water that you just wouldn't believe fit to drink .
  14. OK mate I'm in Rugby if that's any good to you
  15. Yea and I'll bet there's some whites too. I bought some dutch Delbars last year.
  16. Might be less for fancy breeds but those that want to will still get through.
  17. If you drive down the M40 from Banbury past Stockenchurh and through the cutting and go to Slough Maidenhead or High Wycombe area. You'll see stacks o' red kites. I counted 45 the other week. People feed 'em round Stockenchurch :-/
  18. If he can defend that much territory I'd let him. My old grizzle has 3 boxes. Won inland, flown 300 mile north, and 750 mile south + places in the nationals too.
  19. My best cock funnily enough has no less than 3 boxes
  20. My first bird at 600 mile was a Buscheaart
  21. Kept me entertained for hours ;D ;D ;D ;D
  22. One of my favourites was the cricket commentary on radio 4 The batsman's Holding The bowlers Willey ;D
  23. Yea and GB rings could also be NWHU or NEHU. May be? But then Spain is only just over the water.
  24. You got to end it some time. There are birds at £15 and £20. I'd be a lot dissapointed if my birds went for so little.
