Please don't think i'm calling for all fanciers to Join the SNRPC. I'm just saying its a free country and if u want to fly with them great, if u want to fly with SNFC fine, if fanciers want to fly in both then fair enough! I thought I would be flying in both this year, but now I and a lot of fanciers don't know what the heck is going on. I know one thing though I will deffo be sending some birds with the SNRPC to their Channel races. They warrant support and ye don't get any hassle there and the birds travel in good modern transporters with air conditioning and come home in excellent order. :) Its up to the individual!

I know you've no beef with the SNRPC m8! South boys would be welcomed be no doubt about it, theres no ifs or buts about it. I look forward to competition in any distance race, bring it on I say :emoticon-0157-sun: :emoticon-0157-sun:

Steven, any club with should be trying to encourage new members into their membership, not doing things to discourage them. And yes Steven there would be a station set up again in the South of that I have no doubt. As long as there are a few members willing to send to these races. There would also be marking stations set up if there was enough interest elsewhere even in the North. Doesn't matter what Union any member belongs to either as far as I know. Its just membership to fly pigeons in a distance club, one which is pretty friendly I would say. The BBC {British Barcelona Club)down south is another similar example m8! :) :) :) :)

Not too cheap, not good news and a bit complicated as well.

Yeah he's been a top fancier all his days!

Missed it last night what channel was that game on m8. :emoticon-0138-thinking:

Forgot to say that Open and Section Prizes won in the SNRPC are won on the exact same Ratio as the SNFC. That's 1 in 10 in both Open and Section in both clubs. The SNRPC have a shorter Open Prize Winning list because of less birds entered. However being that as it is I hope Fanciers don't think its easy because make no mistake these birds have to work hard to get home to their lofts. Come to think of it the SNFC don't have big Convoys either these days {in channel races} compared to other Nationals, but that doesn't mean I don't rate the Fanciers and the top performances their birds put up every year. I know of other areas in the uk with lots more birds entered even at the distance but theres not many of them that I would go to if I wanted to buy birds of them because a lot of them just fly into one area. In Scotland their spread all over and I know the terrain. Its Quality not Quantity entered in Nationals the same as it is in each individual loft, you've all heard that said before. Am not interested in big numbers, most just following like sheep. They get lost a few hours up the road cause they havn't got it. Only a small percentage have what it takes! Followers eventually fall by the wayside, its Leaders we need. On that note I'll sign off this post with something for you to think about. That's one of the things sadly lacking in this sport PROPER LEADERSHIP!!! Lets sort it!

Well guys its been an interesting read on this thread. Missed some of it tonight cause my daughter does a lot of studying for college so I can only get on at certain times. Gotta do what am told sometimes! I would deffo take on board all comments made on this thread as they all seem honest statements in one way or another. Getting back to the Prize list Scenario its fairly simple. For example 430 birds at say Reims means 43 Open prizes. 439 entries means 44 prizes. If ur not in the first 44 in this case then ur pigeon doesn't qualify for an Open Diploma. However u can still win a Section Prize Diploma in ur Section again working on the 1 in 10 Prizes allocation. Say there were 185 birds in ur sect that's 19 Section prizes even although there might have only been say 8 in ur Section in the first 44 in the Open. So that would leave 11 prizes still to won in ur sect. These other pigeons might finish say 48th, 58th 67th ,69th, and so on in the Open Result but will still qualify for a Section Diploma by virtue of the 1 in 10 allocation of prizes in ur Sect. I know most fanciers already know all the above but I typed all this out for anyone that doesn't, maybe Novices or Young Fanciers thinking of joining for these Nationals. Further as regards the SNRPC no disrespect to anyone incl New Starters or Novices. They might be entering these big National races for the first time and when they time in from these far off race points its a thrill they wont forget. Again no disrespect meant but more often than not they wont make the result their still learning. If they do finish on the result although not winning a Diploma, they are bound to be encouraged when they see their name on the result even if its only their first bird. It shows their not far away and keeps them interested for the next year and so on. A lot of times the Veteran fancier doesn't win a Diploma but if he sees his first bird home on the result at least that's a little bit consolation, and that's all it is. In this day and age more fanciers should think of it from the Novice or young fanciers point of view. The old saying - "A Little Bit Of Something Is Better Than A Big Bit Of Nothing" Sounds good to me. Think about it you know it makes sense. By the way other big Nationals in Britain have been doing this for many many years. Not every bird on their results wins a Certificate/Diploma and it doesn't do them any harm. Best regards Gentlemen :animatedpigeons: :animatedpigeons:

I know what u mean m8. They maybe got a position on the result but if it isn't allocated or pro rata they don't win a diploma. However they all know that when they enter. :animatedpigeons:
-
You only win a diploma if its an allocated prize m8!
-
Well lads its 1 prize per 10 entries in the channel races and 1 in 5 in the longest race. The 1 in 15 for inland National was changed last year so now also 1 in 10. More birds more prizes up for grabs. ;)
-
That's a fair and interesting point.
-
Hope when u catch her m8 that u return in a hurry to where she belongs!

Good stuff Buster :emoticon-0137-clapping:

Of course it is Davie it happens all the time. In fact my first pigeon timed last year from Gold CUP Alencon race didn't make the result cause it didn't win a prize and its vel was better than some on the result, it was my time in that's a fact Dave.
-
Davie I know what ur talking about and know who ur talking about, but the others not on result hadn't won prizes that's why they weren't on result m8. At least that was the reason given. Whether that's right or wrong is another story, plenty of clubs do that inlc SNFC.
-
I was on Committee at one time and there was only one guy Davie. S.G.

Honestly I thought this could have and would have been resolved. I just see this dragging on the whole year not doing any one of us any good. It will just go on and on at least until there is a meeting called by the Officials. God only knows what will happen when a meeting is finally called for, but in the meantime its not going to be pleasant for anyone im afraid.
-
Very true very true, if only fanciers all over would see this and stop wearing BLINKERS!
-
:emoticon-0136-giggle: Not far from the truth.
-
Some are maybe scared of the truth, it might affect them long term!
-
Another thing that bothers me is why don't the SNFC get embarrassed about it all. Their the laughing stock all over the world now! Wouldn't be surprised if quite a few letters starting appearing in the weekly papers in the next few weeks and months. The Whole sport in Scotland needs a right good shake up from top to bottom, and the rules also need looked at or revised. Its a disgraceful scenario! :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

Cant see them attracting many new members with these antics. Why they want to continue pressing the self destruct button is beyond belief. Sending out wrong messages yet again.
-
It could speed up the END of the SNFC!
