  1. Sorry Mick meant to say if u do happen to get ur hands on a duck egg, just the yolk from it should do the trick. Sounds like ur bird hasnt eatin in days before getting home he sounds like a fighter so dont give up. In the meantime what about some honey in lukewarm water syringed down his throat. He's weak at the minute so a forced drink might help him along try it for a few days see how it goes m8.
  2. Also mick, if ur able to get ur hands on one duck egg you could whisk it then try get some down its throat with a syringe. It if it stays down for 24 hrs it'll do ur bird a bit of good and later you could get a charcol tab down its throat also. That will help clean and sweetin the crop. Hope you get it sorted Mick good luck!
  3. Has to be a very light feed smalls seeds for first few days. I would try pellets mick but not too many. Just a little for first few days. They will also make it drink and hopefuly the mush will stay down m8!
  4. A pigeon turned up injured late last night and had been missing from round the loft since either thurs or fri night. My daughter says its nae problem dad al sort it and she did, and not for the first time either. I held it down and we removed some feathers from around the open wound. Then cleaned it before she put umpteen stitches on it. Weeve both done this before countless times, now we await its recovery hopefully soon. I ask the question tho how many girls, lady friends or wifes would do this. I applaud her for her efforts!!! Thanks Dani yer a wee star!!!
  5. Watching it last night and today the soldiers stories from the West Flanders battlefield are gruesome. A war of attrition and wholesale slaughter. How on earth the surviving soldiers ever got through that god only knows because its well beyond me. The pain and suffering those men had to endure was unbelievable. We should never ever be allowed to forget them. Please remember their sacrifice!
  6. Watched the opening of the Commemoration last night which was excellent, could hear a pin drop.

  11. Good another one for next year Andrew m8. Still got the 2/3 home myself, would like to get the other one home, but maybe expecting too much. Its been another extremely hard race with very few home in racetime. A m8 of mine got one a couple of days ago and another tonight giving him 3/7. Hope some more turn up in the next few days and weeks.

  15. Off the top of my head i think its only happenend from the longest race. The north sect boys usually get thum most years to my knowledge. Although the Rennes race of 1997 i think may have been another where no north sect birds were recorded, i stand corrected on it though. I have that result somewhere i think thats the year John Bosworth was the winner. I also remember getting at least 3/5 from there, one was only about 3hrs out of racetime, one early on the 4th morning and another later in the afternoon. The one pleasing thing about it though was they were all broken pigeons, so it was deffo not easy, just like this years channel races.
