Not disrespecting any fancier Ricky , I've always maintained that if you can fly a good pigeon through in the west you could win anywhere, look at ian Cameron , flew in Ayrshire. Not a top flyer but could win races , goes down south and wins the MNFC and is always well in in the long races . I asked ian last year about moving back up here to race ,his answer no Fkn chance , he said a 500 mile race down there is like a 100 mile race into Ayrshire .

Far too early for most mate , most fed shows don't start till November , think your show will reflect that ,with either not many at it or lots still going through the moult in the shows .

I think John was getting this up and running just for convoying to start with , then we can see what happens after that del , we only need measurements if we re acing against each other . And as you say it only works if all have the same race program or if its similar then each could tweak there's a bit to match up . For me I would take solway but only for convoying.

Think the main thing just now is to see who are up for joint convoying , then sort out the logistical stuff out later ie, baskets/crates etc. race controller , all that stuff could be sorted out easily enough .with goodwill of the usual small group of hard workers each fed has . I'm dead against competing with overseas national racing , for me it would be for inland races over or approx 200 miles to the coast and one or two young bird races , so maybe. 5/6 races a year in total .

It's been proved with especially the young bird national Ricky , the last few years , billy bills and moves to ayemouth area and wins it twice in two years , not just winning it dominating it , billy wasn't the best flyer up here he was a good flyer but not one of the top guys , and I never disrespect any pigeon or pigeon man , it's hard getting winners , and even harder to time in from the Chanel . If you look back to the guy in stewarton. Stuart divit. 2nd open and without doubt the best pigeon in the race . Same as jock alstons 2nd open this year as far as I'm concerned tat was the best pigeon in that race ,but that is just my opinion .there are lots of pigeons that don't win ,I look at we're the are flying into and the conditions on the day to determine the best birds .

Forgot one of the very best in the west with only a small loft , that of davie Donaldson of glassford, I'm sure if davie stayed in the east he would have a national win or two under his belt .

Can't disagree pal about raising our game , I did a few years back worked my socks off for a few years it the results I deserved , but nice then I've had family problems ,which took more of my time so, not been working as hard as I should be , still I get in the results ,but with a bit of extra effort I know I can get back up there. Oh and I've no helpers I do it myself apart from my good lady letting my hens out around 2pm every day , it's much much easier when two or more are working them , even better when one doesn't work . I've said many a time that there are good fliers in our end of the world , if they just believed in their selves .

Yes top flyers through here but I'm sure they would be saying the same as me , expletive remove out of the last 5 gold cup races they have timed in 1 race , they have a long way to go to catch up some others in the west likewise myself , I could name prob 20/30 in front of robert and David , and I'm not rubbishing them one bit , good guys and work hard for their results , some are top class no doubt about it but consistency is what you look for . Imho

John the thread was about the last 5 years not of all time then yes John hodgson would be in the top 5 IMHO . But going on last 5 years timing in most if not all races ,overseas are the only ones I'm rating on .

We could try for a season ,can't be any worse than the last two longest races , disasters both of them , yet the snrpc went on there own to Troyes ,let go 86 birds and had over 50 birds home At last info i got Now that's brill from over 600 miles .
