Yeah fair play to Joe he has been helpful with birds and info both. A real genuine fella and has guided me through the recent dramas. Look forward to buying him a drink (or 10) someday
-
Thanks Ryan. He was bought from the Higg (Big Joe from Scotland) blood of G Delaney. He is a real cracking bird handles like a dream and can't wait to get some young off him.
-
Cheers Tony. Certainly was mate after all the colour in your loft nearly blinded me! (More white then the North Pole) haha Will keep u posted with this missing hen drama. If no joy will come and grab one of those gay pieds off ya
-
Cheers lads for the info. Will invest in one of those little gizmo's and also gonna try train the doggy to live outside.

Trust me Joe nobody is more pissed off about it then me. You know i only have very small numbers so losing one is a big kick in the balls especially being a new starter hoping to breed my first round of late breds this year. Makes it even worst that it was the best hen of the lot and now I am down to 13 birds so a spare cock to plan what to do with. I have been to the Citizens advice bureau and they have given me a template letter to send off to the 2 couriers who dealt with the bird that was STOLEN or LOST. I am waiting to hear back from both couriers regarding delivery addresses for the letters then I will fire them off, legally that is apparently the first step. One courier is calling the first courier or yourself a liar (saying was only ever 5 birds not 6). Other courier will not say a word about it and had made zero contact. All i know is i have been shafted by some dishonest bugger and your grizzle is now with somebody who is not its rightful owner. Depressing stuff mate, really not what I need at the minute.

My first read of this. Very good article and some solid info. Many thanks for sharing Ryan. -
Cheers lads. Have got em on a depurative mix and clean water mainly but gemthepax twice a week. Unlimited grits and granen and they are looking fantastic. Very happy with how they have settled and all seem full of beans even the OAP's Can't wait to breed some late breds this year and have some birds to fly out. Exciting stuff!

My number 1 female & also my home security. Couple of the prisoner birds. Have got em settled and starting to hand feed now and just enjoying getting to grips with em. No breeding going on yet, gotta knock up a YB loft first. Cheers, Pete

My neighbours have cats and i can see them causing me some problems. I know dunking them in water for a few seconds or so will deter them a bit. But they are a bit hard to catch. I have a dog who will scare them off when she's outside but she lives indoors when I'm not home. Has anyone used a Ultrasonic/Infrared gizmo, and if so do they work? Was looking st this sort of thing >>> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yard-Sentinel-Repellent-Electronic-Ultrasonic/dp/B00ENQGRRW/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1396294919&sr=8-8&keywords=cat+repeller Anyone had this problem and found a solution please do post up. Cheers Pete

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Tony C who invited me to his place today for a cuppa, chit chat and to see his birds. Top bloke and great setup. Fantastic birds and the picture of health. Tony was good enough to give me a tour and advice and answer and explain a lot of stuff for me. Also makes a great cuppa and got to meet his pal Kev who was also a good bloke. Thanks mate very glad to have got to pop over.

The guys at g&r havent got a good word to say about him. But i guess they have their own reasons.
-
Amen to that.

Hats off to you for your honesty and not wanting to let a 2nd rate youngster go. Many men would have given any yb just to avoid drama. You have priciples and morals beyond many Walter. Shame there are not more men like you about.

I sent g&r a text on Tuesday and stated shipper and recipient and number of birds (6 of). I had replies via text from him and no mention or questioning of the 6 birds actually being 5 as alledged. Then comes friday and only 5 arrived. Saturday late afternoon now no call from either company, no explanation, no bird. A company should be judged by incidents occuring but also how they respond and deal with incidents such as this. I have collected all text evidence and emails sent. I dont know what the procedure is for such things but i will have to get legal advice Monday because this is not on. Call it what you want bad service, theft whatever you like. But my bird has been stolen by someone. This is a belgium import a top notch pigeon. Not sure if this is a police matter or civil matter but will seek advice. Both couriers are pigeon keepers so cant see how a bird can just vanish like it was a pair of shoes. Madness, seriously beggars belief.

Hi Guys, yeah bit of a kick in the balls and feel bad as much for Joe who has gone out of his way to arrange and send the birds down. I have never transported pigeons before so dont really know the in's and outs but I know about other livestock and how transporting any animal had to be managed carefully and as fast as possible. G&R said the birds would come towards end of week, i thought this very slow as i have driven to scotland myself before in about 13 hours so thought 3-4 days was excessive. They said thurs or fri, then they said fri first thing 11am latest. Then i was told between 2&4pm delivery. Then the driver tolde he's on his way to me but in norfolk (2.5-3 hours from me). So he arrived at mine just after 7pm but a bird short. When i called no answer, so i text and explained the situation they say Saltire gave them only 5. Obviously the money side is a real pain in the ass, also being a hen short now. But my real concern is where the poor bird is. Must be in a box somewhere in someones van or unit. To add insult to injury i googled g&r tonight and they are only 75 mins drive away max so cant grasp why they waited 4+ days to deliver. I had another delivery with high flyer couriers from wales only took 24 hours. Their courier said he has picked birds from scotland and dropped to my sort of area or even london in 24hr time frame. The birds that have made it safely from Joe are fantastic quality though, best ive ever seen and proud to have such birds. Just a shame things have gone this way. G&r have text asking for joes number so what happens next is anybodies guess.

Fantastic looking pigeons there Walt. Some of the best lookers I have seen. Good on you mate. -
Seems to be so many penalties given in the last few games ive watched. Wish they would clamp down on all this play acting and get back to proper football! Exciting game though. Glad im not a betting man or i would have been backing Real!
