  1. Ordered some of these myself last week. How long did they take to come Joe? On the site it says about 10-14 days so I probably have another week or so to wait. What colour did ye go for?

I was reading about this strain just the other day in an old Squills yearbook. I believe a Dr created the strain and there were a lot of red chequers in the family. Looked and read to be fantastic pigeons but it was an old book 15-20+ years old. Would also be interested to know if they still exist.
  3. Welcome aboard!
  4. Top notch couriers, used em once and very impressed.
  5. Haven't made much progress, have sent about 5-6 emails and made a couple of calls too. Including the RPRA and a few secretaries etc. Northampton lot (to the extreme east of me say I am too far West and would be pissing in the wind trying to compete being isolated on the west by a good 15-25 miles. Warwick lot (to the west of me) said I was too far out of the radius for their fed (35 miles from a specific point). I got distances calculated and I was less then 35 miles even by road (let alone how the crow flys). Then told the only club that i could get in to fly in this fed is an hour away from me. Since I have been hunting for a club (near on 2 weeks now) I have been told where I am is a bit of a, "black hole". Also been told by a regional secretary she doesn't know of any north road pigeon clubs any more. (I was hoping to race North). I have been told my best chances of being able to race are the National club (Midlands National Flying Club) or the NRCC (North Road Championship Club). Hardly the place for a new starter to cut his teeth! I am amazed that it is so hard to get into a club. Especially considering I am pretty much bang in the middle of the country! For a sport that is meant to be not getting enough new flyers in, I don't see how it can be so bloody hard Also they need to get some new technology in to catch up with the internet era. If you go to a website like Tesco, put in your postcode it tells you where your local store is. How hard would it be to set such a thing up to find your local clubs/feds? NOT VERY HARD OR EXPENSIVE! Crazy that the RPRA haven't taken the initiative on such a thing to encourage new flyers and make it easy to find out your local clubs etc Sorry for the rant lads, but really am finding it an up hill struggle to get to fly a bloody bird competitively

  15. I reckon so mate! Haha. I didnt realise it was so hard to find someone to race with (I know how Delboy feels now!!) Have another number to call tomorrow for a Fed in Warwickshire so hoping they are keen for a new fella to join so they can try and scalp me each week
  16. Hi Guys hoping someone can help me out. Have been looking for a Club/Fed to race in and not having much joy. Have spoken to one local club and they say I am outside their radius and way too far to the West. I am apparenty on the border of the East Midlands Region but not quite in there. Also same scenario with Northampton on the other border. Feels like I am in no mans land!! If anybody who lives in my part of the world can direct me please do. My postcode is NN7 4RF (Northants). Cheers - Pete
  17. He is mad as a box of frogs but funny as hell

    Cats

Cheers for all the info lads. If only I could catch the wee *expletive removed* I would courier em up to Walter so he could take em for a long walk and do the bizzo PS. On 2nd thoughts I would ship em by G&R so when they go missing it would save Walter a walk
  19. Haha i have had a few private messages about this to warn me. Watch out for Walter apparently he has two biscuit tins, one with the good stuff and the other with the broken biscuits and the Tesco Value type. No points for guessing which tin he keeps hidden Once things have settled down here I will certainly be voyaging up there and hope to see yourself, Walter and hopefully Delboy if I can bribe me way in with some Jammy Dodgers haha The difficult bit is how I can disguise the trip as a Romantic weekend for the Missus (will take some planning) haha.
  20. Great to hear two top blokes had a chance to meet up. Sounds like a good day for all
