Their lofts used to house a lot of black pigeons, similar to the bird in the first photograph. If my memory is correct their base pigeons were of the Champion Major strain ??

BHW & RP - would agree about the content of the RP but still worth getting for the Billy Wortley articles imo.

One of the best distance lofts in Scotland [imo ], the late Dennis Dall, Ladybank , regularly brought in a cross from winning lofts, south of the border - Bainton of Wimbourne, Fear Brothers, Tom Ryding of Banks, Tommy Gilbertson, Morgan & Cooke, Gibbon, Son & Haswell, all left their mark in the Dall loft. Good pigeons can win into any location, irrespective of route.

It sad to report the death of Davie Scott, Brechin on 5th November, 2015 aged 92. A top fancier in his day and a nicer person would be hard to find. Although he parted with his pigeons a number of years ago, he still kept a keen interest in the sport. RIP Davie.
