  1. SU 19 L 390 home safe and sound earlier today, many thanks Davie
  2. Your dead right their Tam
  3. Just had a look on XC weather for this Saturday and the forecast is poor, Tam got it right with the SW wind but don't think it would be a blow home, full low cloud cover, fog, poor visibility , some rain , no sun, low temps, that adds up to a stinker for me, Sunday looks a far better day with a strong west wind, then again it's only a forecast
  4. Good post which makes sense, text I received from the Fed this morning says we are going to Ripon next weekend
  5. Jim That's exactly my point
  6. Don't see any post from Jim Cameron on this thread
  7. Just received a text with statement from president , quote, we will be racing from Kelso on Wednesday and Ripon on Saturday and will continue with last published programme, unquote Hope all goes to plan and weather is fair for both races
  8. Your guess is as good as mine, could be anywhere or nowhere, weather forecasting 6 or 7 days in advance is not be relied on , after all it's only forecast and not a fact, for me should stick with Kelso on Wednesday and then Ripon at the weekend if possible
  9. Stuart , joiners and bricklayers, got to admit I was pis sin myself at that, but kidding aside they are an feckin menace and the hens are a fair old size, and I'm an electrician
  10. I am a bricklayer :emoticon-0136-giggle: that doesn't count it is only joiners who know what 6 feet looks like
  11. Now found it, not in the drop down menus you need to double tap on race card to get it
  12. John, that is where I have been looking, have checked again under all drop down menus and still can't see it ?? Thanks Jim
  13. As scheduled where? I have looked on the website and can't see a proposed race programme, I know about Hexham tomorrow night , maybe, I now know about Kelso Tuesday night , again maybe , but didn't know about this until I seen it on here, where are we going next Saturday and thereafter please ??

  16. Apologies, this the 3rd statement issued by SHU, No 3 on my last post is an RPRA guide, sure you know what I mean
  17. Above is 3 statements issued recently by the SHU which all contradict one another, understand this is difficult situation but dearly me the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing, is it any wonder the fanciers are confused and don't what is right or wrong, What a shambles, they would have been better of issuing nothing
  18. Geez Peter that's a sare yin
  19. GROUP TRAINING OF RACING PIGEONS IN SCOTLAND Group training of racing pigeons in Scotland can be carried out by members of the Scottish Homing Union provided the following minimum precautions are taken. During the loading of the transporter the driver must remain in the cab of the vehicle and have no contact with those loading the transporter Only two people at a time can be present to load the transporter. This can be achieved by allocating times to members thereby reducing the size of gatherings The same two people must not be used to load the transporter A camping type mobile toilet must be provided for the driver as there are possibly no public toilet facilities available en route Clubs and Federations must ensure that any location that they may use as a liberation site are currently open to the public or the neccessary permission has been granted from the owner of the site The minimum distancing and hygene steps must be taken at all times to ensure the safety of members and the public alike Gordon Turnbull, B.E.M. President Scottish Homing Union Yours sincerely Mrs Linda Brooks Scottish Homing Union Secretary Unless I am getting this wrong the above advice was issued by the SHU last week specifically adivising that group training could take place with the proviso that the conditions detailed where adhered to, the latest update earlier on this thread now contradicts the above statement, is it any wonder there is so much confusion...................
  20. You need to get a magpie from another area for your trap, don't you know anyone else with a Larsen trap so you can swap birds ?
  21. Hate putting a downer on this but looking at the RPRA guidance on race marking issued today then most clubs will not be able to adhere to this, that's assuming the same or similar guidance would apply in Scotland, just my own thoughts on it but I can't see it happening at local club level
  22. Yeah it's been at me 3 times that I've seen in the last 2 weeks, had I right go but unsure if it got any
  23. Term of endearment Archie
  24. Yes it's the SHU that will give the go ahead for racing if and when that happens ?Tommy is only planning ahead should that be the case, you can't fault a man for that, keep up the good work big man
