As you may know Ian, I was the person that enabled everyone to get a lottery grant and I knew that the lottery would've taken back all their grants if they knew that clubs were keeping members out. Ironically , I was one that was being kept out but there was no way I would've stooped so low to shop anybody, ive always done the right thing regarding the pigeon sport and nobody can ever argue that. The SHU told me if I wanted a club then id need to start one up myself, I wonder if this would still apply if I was of a different origin. :emoticon-0179-headbang: I can honestly say, the SHU DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP ME as a fully paid up member and supporter of all their causes.

I cant remember the last time I treated for cocci, it must be 20 years ago. The Cocci count lowers as soon as you eradicate any other underlying problem. If you canker your birds, the cocci count automatically lowers therefore most cocci products are a waste of money imo.

I agree , mind ye, there is always the exception and this is what makes the pigeon sport so good, nobody really knows the answers. I can only go by percentages and experience.

Aye, roundabout too, the yearlings ultra motivated early on can sometimes overfly and over try and inevitably get lost. You can show the old experienced birds their hens before basketting if you think its needed.

It doesn't matter what system you use Ally, its winding yearlings up early on that can be foolish. Race widowhood but don't show the hens until they return, definately from the first few races anyway, omo.

Get yourself testing kits from a reputable avian vet ( theirs none in Scotland ) and test your birds every few weeks and treat according to the vets instruction. Youll save money in the long run.

this pigeon had the worst drooped tail feathers you would ever see but just before she won the west section at the gold cup her tail came up and was very tight. ps. less of the old lol This photo was taken the morning after the Gold cup and you can see her tail starting to loosen again.
