  3. Aye, that's right Wattie, what a f kin doo though.
  4. I bet its soon m8
  5. Outstanding Mick, hairs standing on the back of the neck stuff.
  6. This loft had the best result in the Bourges race last year, flying into the worst location in a head wind. All the best this year Ken and stick to the plan
  7. I use Libby Harrison at Retford poultry m8, shes the best avian vet in the UK imo but very busy, maybe too busy
  8. No I don't follow it up Martin, I treat exactly to the specifics the vet has advised and trust her judgement to clear the problem.
  9. They had 2 top performers last year in the Gold cup Brian, theyve always been to the fore in national racing
  10. I use the vet 4 or 5 times during racing, before season starts, before nationals, before last national, before yb season, before yb national.
  11. Check the Strangs lift of £2000, 37 years on the money is worse!!!! but Strangs still getting in Also Strathclyde Lass winning the west section and her Gold Award ( I believe )for John Feenie
  12. My birds always seem to have a touch of candidia ( thrush )when using supplements, obviously the sugar content they have caused this.
  13. Id say the same, if not slightly better David. I can only guage my results in the SNFC as I don't have a club/fed but I can tell you this,I went to Peterborough last year in the same liberation as Glasgow fed, Caledonian Combine and I would've had 10 birds in the top 16.
  14. Ye know, all my birds are mated now and I thought ill canker them while on eggs. I made up all the fountains and then thought, what the fk am I doing ( old habits die hard ) I emptied it all out again and put them back to clean water.
  15. THEY SAY THE TRUTH IS LIKE POETRY, NO C##T WANTS TO HEAR IT LOL.Feed , water and grit only unless advised otherwise. Try it and then send me half of the money you've saved on all the sh ite. Every single one of you know im talking the truth ( as I always do ) but are frightened to change .Try this, send a sample away regularly and if it is ok to minimal infection then they obviously get fk all.A DECENT VET WILL TELL YOU IF THE BIRDS CAN COMPETE OR NOT THAT WEEK.If it comes back and they have a moderate to heavy count of something then they are treated accordingly. I had a viral disease went thru the birds last year and their bottom eye lid dropped.( fat eye ) I took advice from my vet and treated accordingly but this didn't work. I asked friends who had experienced similar symptoms in their birds and was advised to give 1/4 flagyl. This helped a bit but the only cure for this viral thing was TIME and rest. Lanarkshire Lad ( Jim Wood ) told me it wasn't a big deal and that most of his club had had it. I had tried everything to cure it but giving them nothing but TIME for it to go through their system was the answer. I used to give all sorts of supplements in the lead up to the SNFC races, as I say, with a lot of success but this was all false as they performed equally well with nothing but natural HEALTH AND FITNESS. Nothing beats natural form, and for this to happen then obviously the form has to come NATURALLY.
  16. Plenty of good fanciers everywhere Dal, even the Solway lol
  17. Lol, we need therapy
  18. its there agm on Monday Lewis, mind ye, if you go thru later on it should be ok
  19. This is true as you will have read I have given vits/ probiotic after a treatment but only after instruction by a vet.I too, have for many years used every *expletive removed* thing advertised but have found its a complete waste of money.
  20. Hand on heart, can anyone on here honestly say that they could not fly a pigeon without the use of a certain supplement/product? If you think about it, you probably use different ones every year, this tells me that you aren't convinced of any benefits in the product you've been using. Try a section of your birds with no supplements and im positive you wont see a bit of difference. I was a big believer in natural products, vinegar, salt, sugar, garlic etc but I even cut them out last year and scored in most nationals. The funny thing about the pigeon game is, it doesn't matter what you say, most wont believe you anyway lol.ps. The guy that convinced me not to use any products was a top Solway fancier.
  21. Good post Mick
  22. So, as you see , im not the only one practising along the lines of little to no supplements used with an emphasis on plenty of good clean feed/water . Its funny what Davy says about the heat in the loft as my own lofts ( haven't Perspex on the roof ) but are quite warm inside.I never get a frozen drinker in the winter with the way my set up is.
  23. Its not as set in stone as that Ryan. I treat only if needed and only for the illness they have at that time. This may be followed up with vitamins or a probiotic which is determined only by the vets advice. The feed I give during the year has enough natural vits, minerals, trace elements etc in it to bring the birds into top health. I feel all the commercialism nowadays in the pigeon sport is ridiculous, we had great returns from 5-600 miles years ago when the birds got nothing but water/feed/grit and im trying to get back to that.
