Hi Novice, Its just another excuse if someone or organisation has a bad race. Old wives tale I think. I've had some great races with this condition and lesser, some not so good, but these are few and far between, so theres maybe some other reason for this.

Great Comment Eastcoaster, However I think a lot of the SNFC members were disollusioned over the "CHEAT" scenario and didn't want to be involved or giving 100% in contributing to the general running of the club. Now this is resolved with the "CHEAT" no longer being a member of the club Iam convinced things are about to change for the better.

You got convoying for 25p per pigeon last season and excellent racing. The season before on your own you paid much more and didnt finish your programme, due to finances. How much is your birdage this season going to be going on your own. Pentland still 25p per bird. There's a few bad eggs in the Midlothian Fed spoiling it for the majority who were delighted with their racing last year. I believe 1or 2 just came back last season after attempting to go with the other lot, which didn't work out!!! The mind boggles!

Yes, It was Midlothians trailer for the first 5 old bird races so all the birds could fit on as the Pentland trailer only holds 3500-4000b, although it was towed by our haulier as the Midlothian didn''t have one. The rest of the O/B it was the Pentland trailer. For the young bird racing 2 trailers went down for the first 5 races towed by the Pentlands haulier. At no time was there 44 birds in a basket. I know cos I'm there every week when loading.

Your right we do have the say and the reason being you couldn't find or afford a haulier to pull your trailer to complete your race programme in 2007, thats why we took you down the road last season. Facts are Facts the Pentland Fed keeps going from strength to strength while the Midlothian still wants to go backward. IE: a large amount not wanting to use ETS, West Coast Racing and many more. A new transporter with Maintenance, Insurance, Inspections every 6 weeks, and most importantly you haven't even got a competent convoyer. Most of you dont have a clue whats involved and who knows the Pentland might not want to take you anymore!!!

Hi Jamie, I dont favour mid-day libs at all, infact the birds should be lib around the 5am mark, but if the majority want to lib mid-day then Tours being the farthest is more likely to be a 2 day race anyway as history has shown.

I'm only comparing facts. End of Story.

Walter, You must be on another planet up there. Do you honestly think last years fantastic Kings Cup Winner bedded down at 2245 hours and got up next day to win the race?

Gareth I can't agree with the mid-day libs from the Kings Cup, although I do agree that the 600+ mile race could be a later than EAP lib due to the fact that the birds more often than not are not expected on the day, unless its a blow home or there's a cheat, like a couple of years ago, but 530-560miles should be day races.
