Have to agree with Stuart, I've had them from the best sources and they've been okay youngsters but crap old birds and there's very few different breeds that I've had and not been able to make them perform to a certain degree.
Yer well measured Henrik!!!!!
New Lothian RPC, Scotlands biggest club flying with the Pentland Fed 1900 birds at Witton Castle flying for nearly £2000.
Got to agree with Gareth on this one. I've had Unikon since 2001 y/b season and not had a problem once, (touch wood) although the last minute updates are a joke.
Sounds LIke paramyxo to me. A few people I know have got youngsters from the same source this year and bucketed them right away. Although your older birds IF VACCINATED shouldn't have caught it.
Was the Almond Valley Fed not formed by a breakaway from the Central? if my memory is correct. Great idea jock3 in theory, any chance of giving me Wednesdays lottery no's!!!!
Leave them at least an hour early doors and longer as the season progresses and let them come and go to their nest boxes. Most fanciers make the mistake of locking them in their boxes too long.
Great post I carry out this practise also. I dont show the hens for the first 4 or 5 races and if they're in the fed every week, sometimes 6 or 7 races or until there's a slight dip in form. You must keep them guessing and strive for a team performance rather than one pigeon ahead of the rest.
