  1. 2 of the worse places to liberate doos. Every Pylon in East Lothian runs into Cockenzie power station on your line of flight and St Boswells is the Bermuda Triangle.
  2. Got 2 Lanarkshire strays in on Saturday libbed this morning from Glasgow, both got home okay. Fanciers delighted to get them back. The birds were falling to bits in the moult, better left in the loft when they're like this.
  3. Gareth, Agree with you partially but Lanarkshire fed is only 20 miles west of me. Our line of flight is one of 2xvalleys, the A7 Gala Water or the A68 East side of Soutra. Earlier postings from Cheeseman and Eggy are lots of losses too. These guys are on both the Lines of Flight for Edinburgh. We do have losses to you know, but what I,m saying is if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got. We all need to restructure. Anyway you couldnae come to Edinburgh, you wouldnae fit under the Harthill Bridge ;D ;D
  4. Better idea. Try racing your youngsters from 60 miles in May on a Sunday when the weather is fresher and the skies clear than the hottest months of July and August. The continentals have been doing this for years. I'm sure by July the experience will tell and 200 miles may be possible.
  5. George canny agree with you on this one. Before this season Lanarkshires LAST 9/10 RACES were no further than 100 miles. It doesn't weed out enough of the rubbish and you breed off them as yearlings and you get the same time and time again. Although I do agree that all of the lost birds at the weekend are not rubbish, but I'll bet they're not all in good race condition.
  6. I fae Kelso every week ;D ;D
  7. The Pentland Fed Y/B midweek race from Newark has been delayed for 24 hours. Basketting will now be on Wednesday night for a Thursday race.
  8. First up best dressed. Early as Possible for me anytime
  9. Well done big Tam winning Danderhall and good returns. I sent 50 timed at 10:23 to beat you on overfly by about 2 miles. I had 40/50 at clocks and only another 2 home upto now where the hell are they? last weeks winner missing.

Agree with Tony C but if your pigeons are near deaths door with a bacterial infection then its all to do with time. I think Nifuramycin by Rhonfried can be administered as a stab in the dark and usually very successful
  19. I new you would disagree Chris, but thats allowed. I'm still hurting from a bad Alencon race this year.
  20. Quite happy with Ypres Derek but why not Reims for the Kings cup 556 miles to me, although Alencon is still fine by me.
  21. Gareth, Got to disagree on this one. The majority of the Scottish pigeons are flying an EASTERLY ROUTE EVERY WEEK and the french races should be on the line of flight, which would take the Falaise race to the likes of Clermont, although the Solway guys who fly the west coast each week would probably not agree with me, as you just have to look at the Alencon and Falaise race where they filled there clocks. My view is that the majority of birds which were East/Central pigeons tried to get on their line of flight and couldn't because of the weather. They were not with the Solway pigeons at the time as the result proves. Remember Solway didn't have a big entry at these 2 races but they did dominate.
  22. The mighty Pentland Fed with their new Maroon (Hearts Colours) Transporter at Otterburn First Y/B race. Good Luck to all :)
