  1. Better idea. Try racing your youngsters from 60 miles in May on a Sunday when the weather is fresher and the skies clear than the hottest months of July and August. The continentals have been doing this for years. I'm sure by July the experience will tell and 200 miles may be possible.
  2. George canny agree with you on this one. Before this season Lanarkshires LAST 9/10 RACES were no further than 100 miles. It doesn't weed out enough of the rubbish and you breed off them as yearlings and you get the same time and time again. Although I do agree that all of the lost birds at the weekend are not rubbish, but I'll bet they're not all in good race condition.
  3. I fae Kelso every week ;D ;D
  4. The Pentland Fed Y/B midweek race from Newark has been delayed for 24 hours. Basketting will now be on Wednesday night for a Thursday race.

Agree with Tony C but if your pigeons are near deaths door with a bacterial infection then its all to do with time. I think Nifuramycin by Rhonfried can be administered as a stab in the dark and usually very successful
  16. I new you would disagree Chris, but thats allowed. I'm still hurting from a bad Alencon race this year.
  17. Quite happy with Ypres Derek but why not Reims for the Kings cup 556 miles to me, although Alencon is still fine by me.
  18. Gareth, Got to disagree on this one. The majority of the Scottish pigeons are flying an EASTERLY ROUTE EVERY WEEK and the french races should be on the line of flight, which would take the Falaise race to the likes of Clermont, although the Solway guys who fly the west coast each week would probably not agree with me, as you just have to look at the Alencon and Falaise race where they filled there clocks. My view is that the majority of birds which were East/Central pigeons tried to get on their line of flight and couldn't because of the weather. They were not with the Solway pigeons at the time as the result proves. Remember Solway didn't have a big entry at these 2 races but they did dominate.
  19. The mighty Pentland Fed with their new Maroon (Hearts Colours) Transporter at Otterburn First Y/B race. Good Luck to all :)

    Same to you kid!
  22. No John it was 2005 I bought them.
  23. Worse were Vandenabeeles purchased from the Europa One loft race and bred by the so-called best in the land. The best percentage wise were a pair purchased at the same sale from the Kuwaiti entrants, bred winners in nearly every nest and won a fortune cash wise. I named them PETROL and DIESEL. No pedigrees but I believe they were Ganus pigeons.
  24. Got 2/6 first and second nominated.
  25. Just in SU09R 8 flown to the tin :-/ :-/
