Got to disagree with the blaw hame ME, I prefer a light N/W wind. Its on the nose I know, but in June & July usually a good racing day with sunshine & broken cloud and they usually come straight on line and the winners do 540 miles at about 40-41 mph. Now thats widowhood cock weather.

Aye yer right ME widowhood cocks on widowhood give there all on the day, and they will give you 15-16 hours on the right day if the breeding is there. I know this statement might not read correct but there is fanciers flying widowhood, they just haven't told there doos that. This is why I hate the late or mid-day liberations, but you cant please everyone.

Why not bring it back Gareth for the guys that want these distances. Too far for me though. I would need to come and get some doos from you to compete. Cheers
  6. Johno read the post before yours. Your one of them that needs their heads banging together judging by the tone on most of your posts.

Not sure Bart you will need to ask a fifer but I dont think so. Len Downie is the best all-round flyer in Fife for the last 3 or 4 years by a mile.....that comments bound to upset one or two but its true.

The furthest flying national winner into Scotland is Dennis Dall who won Niort a distance of 697 miles although it was a second day pigeon. The furthest winning DAY pigeon timed was that of Donaldson & Downie from Rattray at 650 miles from Nantes in 1988.
  10. I always toss first time from 12 miles very early in the morning so they get the sky to themselves.
  11. Met the guy once, top drawer fancier, sincere condolences to his family.
  12. Well done to all who timed in or even got a pigeon home as the weekend racing into Scotland was a F*****g Lottery.......
  13. Aye yer right but you can see the connection.

  16. Well done to Stuart Mullan on winning and all who timed. Fantastic racing by Peter Virtue, tops in the country this last few years along with Richard Combe at 500 plus miles.

Came in Tonight. Phone number on ring but no reply any ideas?
  19. Unfortunately the SNFC decided to get rid of a very competent PRO for a complete dingal, Does SNFC stand for Scott's National Flying Club?
  20. The eye looks infected to me, try some antibiotic eye drops ie cloramphenicol every 4 hours for a couple of days. Dont bother shutting the loft doors to the aviary, thats not your problem or more than one bird would have it.
